mrff recently made a nice 3D animation featuring Ness and those evil walking mushrooms! I don’t know anything about 3D animation, but this is pretty impressive! And it sounds like more could be on the way if there’s enough demand for it 😀 ...Read More »

A while back NorthOfOnett let me know about a neat little project a seamstress friend was working on – turning an old coat into a replica of Ness’ backpack! After much work, the backpack was finally finished – you can see the results here: #gallery-1 { margin: auto; } #gallery-1 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; wi...Read More »

For years and years and years fans have been theorizing about how Ninten and Ness are related. A common theory is that Ninten is Ness’ father, but other fans are quick to point out that MOTHER 1 takes place in 1988 while MOTHER 2 takes place in 199X. That doesn’t give Ness, who’s apparently 12 in MOTHER 2, enough time to grow up. So unless you do some iffy math or say Ninten had ...Read More »

Pippo sent this in: Ness sighting on a BBC TV show! In the second episode of Ricky Gervais’s new show “Life’s Too Short”, there’s a scene outside the London Comic Con. Warwick Davis rides a Segway past a long-trousered Ness sporting a baseball bat 🙂 And here’s a screenshot for reference: I feel like Ness is walking into the crowd to start kicking some ass ...Read More »

meleemario submitted this a while ago: Hey Tomato! I dug up an old issue of Tips & Tricks (R.I.P.) magazine the other day when I was digging through my N64 collection, looking for a game to play. In any case, I spotted Ness on the cover of of T&T (Only took me 8 years to notice!), and I thought that despite this being relatively minor, it’s still important nonetheless to see Earthb...Read More »

Last year and this year, a whole bunch of MOTHER and MOTHER 2 figures were released in Japan, but it’s been surprisingly hard to find videos of them. So here’s one with one of the large Ness figures (as opposed to the mini figures) for collectors’ reference, courtesy of lithium017! Man, if we could only show this video to the EarthBound fans of ten years ago, they’d probab...Read More »

Apparently there are a number of unused sound clips in the original Super Smash Bros. game for the N64 – one of which is Ness saying, “PK Starstorm!” You can supposedly hear it via a debug menu, here’s a video: I guess they had planned for Ness to have Starstorm abilities from the very start but only got around to adding it in Brawl? Any Smash Bros. superfans got any more ...Read More »
