Good ol’ Kyosuke has been around since the early days of EarthBound fan sites and has done tons of EarthBound-related projects over the years. Sometimes he’d make 3D models, sometimes he’d do music, he started the big EarthBound fluke craze back in the day, he’s made EarthBound-themed games for classes, he’s gone to Japanese MOTHER conventions and documented them for ... Good friend Kyosuke recently started learning how to do 3D modeling. This is his latest creation – the Fourside sewers in 3D! This is awesome, especially for someone just starting out! It’s funny, often when I’m learning a new skill I somehow end up tying it with EarthBound too. Glad to see I’m not the only crazy one! ... Read More »

A while back I posted about our old pal Kyosuke who made an EarthBound-themed card game for teaching English to Japanese schoolkids. Well, he’s also since come up with a board game (or more accurately a series of board games) centered around Onett. From his blog post: Well, here’s a picture of the Onett board game that I made for my students to play in class! It’s actually only ... Read More »

A while ago I posted about an event put together by Japanese MOTHER fans called 321 MOTHER. You can read about the 2006 event here. A couple weeks ago the 2009 event took place, and this time three regular visitors here attended, Kyosuke, Chewy, and Izumi. Chewy was kind enough to write up a report about the 2009 event, which you can read here. She also took some pics of the swag she procured whi... Read More »

A long time ago I wrote up a very quick summary (more like jotted-down notes) of the first chapter of the official MOTHER 2 / EarthBound novel. Then many years passed. Longtime fan and Japanese-knowing guy Kyosuke recently decided to do a summary for Chapter 2. So here are the first two chapters summarized! I think Kyo plans on writing more summaries on a regular-ish basis, so that would be good ... Read More »

Long-time EarthBound fan Kyosuke works and lives in Japan teaching English to schoolkids (and doing game translating on the side). Just recently he came up with an EarthBound-themed card game as a learning activity for his students: I’m an English teacher for 3 elementary schools as most of you already know. I try to come up with new ideas for games all the time and recently I made a new car... Read More »

On Saturday, September 23, 2006, there was a fan-organized MOTHER-themed event held in Tokyo. It was called 3 2 1 MOTHER, and it featured all kinds of really awesome stuff. It even featured short anime clips made by a professional animator/illustrator! There was of course a lot of cosplay too. This IS Japan, after all 😛 #gallery-1 { margin: auto; } #gallery-1 .gallery-item { ... Read More »
