Tips for Buying EarthBound

August 20th, 2018 | EarthBound, Merchandise

It’s that time of year again! Shigesato Itoi’s website, Hobonichi, is getting ready to release their signature planners for 2019. Continuing the trend of the past few years, there’re some EarthBound-themed covers to choose from:

They got really creative this year. The Pixel Patterns cover is pleasing to the eyes and I like that they did more than stick unedited sprites next to each other. But the clay model ones — WOW! They used the actual clay models from way back when the game was launched, then they created extra stuff (like the Milky well and the Saturn props) to make the scenes very special and nice.

And then there’s the Blue Marble cover:

It’s not technically EarthBound-related, but the MOTHER logo uses this famous photo, just upside-down:

The covers go up for sale next month! Keep your eyes on these pages:

Oh yeah, the three EarthBound covers each come with this cute mini envelope too!

UPDATE!

I just noticed these clay model pencil boards in the accessories:

There are 2 sizes: one for the original A6, and one for Weeks. Pick those up here!

I’ve always wanted to get one of these but I never thought the designs were that great, but those clay model ones are legit! Pretty sure I’ll be picking up one of them now.

Just can’t decide if i like the mr saturn or milky way one better.

Actually, the photo was originally taken South Up, as it is in the logo.

I’ve never had the money or the need for these planners but these clay covers are some of the best yet.

I like how pristine and oddly spacious Mr. Saturn’s house is.
