Alex sent me this e-mail recently about the Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U strategy guide:
Hi. I was looking at my new game guide and noticed that they misspelled Giygas. They spelt it “Gigas”. Not sure if this is news worthy, but I just wanted to get it out there. No big deal.
And here’s a look at the page in question:
And, as you probably know, his name is supposed to be “Giygas” in EarthBound:
I can’t imagine the rush that writers have to go through to get these guides out on time, so it’s an understandable typo. Between this and other similar mistakes, maybe one of us fans should offer our services to companies as an “EarthBound consultant” 😛

I remember noticing this at EB Games last December! Was flicking through to find Ness specially, my friends all rolled their eyes as I made a big deal of it, hahaha!

Hmm, Ness fighting the Gigas from Skies of Arcadia… that would be awesome.
Somebody needs to make a mod so that can happen.

Well, the name Giygas comes from the Greek word Γίγας, which can be romanized “Gigas”.

Giygas is a fetus.
