I shared this during the last EarthBound Central live stream, but it’s awesome enough that I want to share it here on the site too!
Basically, the EarthBound Zero / MOTHER 1 remake hack for the EarthBound ROM is making significant progress, and vince94 recently did a custom version of Pollyanna for the hack, using EarthBound’s music engine. It turned out amazing:

This MP3 was actually made by a guy named Nelward Music on YouTube, and I commented on his video, asking him if I could cover it in EBMusEd for the Mother Remake.
He never responded, but I ended up drawing from a bunch of other versions of the song too, so as to not steal the arrangement from him outright, LOL.

The Mother 1 remake hack believes the morning sun always gonna shine again. Speaking of that song, you totally took the little guitar from the end of it. xD I’ve heard that version of the song so many times, there’s no way I wouldn’t notice that, lol!

Looooove it. Pollyanna is one of my most favorite songs ever.
The much older Bein’ Friends is really good too.

That’s amazing. That has to be one of the most accurate EarthBound style remixes of Pollyanna I’ve ever heard! As someone who loved the 8-bit original rendition, let me just say this is an incredible remix!

With those instruments it sounds just sounds… too much like EarthBound music. I feel like this game is trying too hard to turn MOTHER 1 into an EarthBound-like experience, and in doing so is robbing it of it’s unique charm.

@Matt It’s running in Earthbound’s engine so it’s gotta use the same kind of instruments and stuff. At least, I think that’s how it works.
Either way, that’s kind of the whole point of the mod anyway.
