Tips for Buying EarthBound

March 4th, 2015 | MOTHER 3, Videos

A little while ago, The Completionist and pals went through the MOTHER 3 translation for the first time and then made a thorough video about the game and their experience. Check it out!

After the video went up, my wife Poe and I had an hour-long chat with them about the translation project, EarthBound 64, and more. You can check that out here:

It was a lot of fun and I hope we’ll get to collaborate again sometime!

If you’d like to read/hear even more detailed MOTHER 3 translation notes, see here and here! I hope to someday do more live translation notes for other games, so if you’re interested, keep an eye out here too!

This was a really cool interview! It makes me want to do something highlighting some of the games that had a big impact on me.

Also, if you’re ever in Ithaca NY, I’ll buy you a beer! 🙂

It’s very cool how you guys came up with original names for the less interesting characters. You did a great job. If nintendo ever came out with an official translation, I don’t think it would feel the same since we’re all attached to this translation.

I think MOTHER 3 is one of the very few games that really is a work of art. It has so much to say about life, happiness, morality, and human nature. It changed my life.
