Meeellla Ness Figure!

Official EarthBound posters are notoriously rare and usually fetch really high prices on eBay. After a year or two of not seeing one, a poster popped up on eBay the other day for $2499.
Man, you’d have to beat up like 800 Runaway Dogs to afford that 😯

I get the feeling a lot of EarthBound related merchandise is going to show up on Ebay now that the game is getting so much re-release press. People got to cash in when the timing is right!

Ahhh, one of the fold-able ones, and in pretty good condition too. I’ve thought about putting my roll up poster on eBay. Came close a few months ago. I do have a wedding to pay for…
fyi, if you read the listing description just know that his shipping estimate is waaaaayyyyy off. Even if he shipped with the frame and insurance, it would not be close to that amount. So don’t get scammed and pay anywhere close to his shipping estimate.

I’d rather be able to afford groceries than pay for this poster. Does that make me a bad EarthBound fan?

@Radiostorm
THE WORST FAN.

Oh well, I guess I’ll just rummage around in trash cans for food…
Make no mistake – this is an icon.
My big question though is how much more could the value appreciate from here? My guess is it reached level 99 once it hit $2000.
Hey BITF did a cool comic for the Earthbound VC announcement. I thought someone may enjoy it.

LOL at that price.
Maybe *maybe* if it was in pristine condition. Even then…..
Why on earth is there a pizza on that poster? I know of Mach pizza, but did NOA had a pizza fetish bsck then or something?
Here’s the problem I have with this poster. It’s folded, but at the same time it’s the same size as the regular poster. I was under the impression that the folding one was a bit smaller. The rolled poster is 27×40 (close to what this one is in-frame), where the folded poster is 22×28.
I dunno, maybe the large poster was occasionally folded. But I still wouldn’t pay that much for an EarthBound poster, even if it was mint.
Ness? It’s your dad. I deposited 1000000$ into your bank account. Looking at the prices this poster is going for, you don’t have half of what you’ll need to get this thing.
Hah, that’s pretty cool, altough expensive. I love that Ness is reflected in the starman’s gaze!

If I had the money, I’d have bought that in no time. And none of you would have even noticed.
(XDD)
I blame that kid who bought the other poster for $1200-$1500 awhile back for this monstrosity we see before us today. I also agree wholeheartedly with the notion that people are going to cash in on the visibility of Earthbound right now.
This reminds me, did that one kid ever come back and submit a photo of his “Earthbound wall” of which that other poster was going to be the centerpiece? He promised! Little rascal.

^ I LOL’d.

@Thedreaminghawk
The pizza is likely advertising the scratch-and-sniff cards that came in the back of the player’s guide. If I remember correctly, the mystery card smelled like pizza.
You can see that the stink cloud on the poster looks almost identical to the one on the card.
It’s true that one guy purchased the other poster for lots of money – but it’s also true that it never would have reached that price if the other guys involved in the bidding war hadn’t been bidding.
My guess is everyone in that bid war has some connection to the Starmen and EB central communities!
CB sure did submit his epic wall. Find it here:

Oh I remember that now! CB was a nice kid. I hope he’s still getting a ton of enjoyment out of his wall.
His poster was in much better condition.
@Halloween, I actually have a repro of this poster. It took quite some time to make, however, if I were to list repros on eBay, there would be some upset collector’s harassing me, so I haven’t done it yet.
^ Don’t let the greed of others influence your decision. They really have no right whatsoever to get upset and I know there are many EB fans who would probably love an opportunity to get a repro poster (including me). Collectors have no right whatsoever to dictate what can be put onto the market just because they are so greedy they want $2,500 for a poster. If some collector has a problem with you doing a nice thing for EB fans, let them stick their over-priced poster straight up their rump. 🙂
Since I can’t afford the real thing 🙁
Oh well. Life sucks for some like me.

Very pricey for one with all those folds in it! Methinks this will be one of those listings that sits on Ebay for months until the seller either decides to ask for less or hold onto it.

@FlyingManCourage: It depends on the actual size and quality of a reproduction. Because if one were made to a very high standard with quality comparable to the real deal, you’re not just screwing “some greedy collector”, you’re screwing collectors who aren’t rich or greedy but did spend a lot of money they saved up on one of these by devaluing something they may have literally skimped out on some meals to get a hold of, lol.
I still haven’t found a way to print these on any large scale and make them affordable (The print I made for myself cost nearly $60). I would really like to sell these for under $50. The poster size is 27×40 like the original, but is not quite the quality of the original. The UPC has been removed and the copyright type blurred. From about ten feet away, the poster looks amazing. Get about a foot or two away and you can tell its a repro.
Well I’m not buying that poster.
