News about the whole EarthBound available for preorder on Amazon UK thing spread across gaming sites like crazy yesterday for some reason, and this prompted good ol’ Mitch to make a new comic!
You can check out some of Mitch’s past EarthBound comics here and check out his other stuff here!

I don’t know how would have the fandom reacted if this actually happened…

Nintendo, listen up. In the virtual console release of EarthBound, slip in an easter egg that lets you play No 1 Bass Fishing on one of the machines in Onett’s arcade.
Watch the fanboys squeal.
I just got on the Amazon page for EarthBound on Wii U, and now the price information is gone. It now says “Sign up to be notified when this item becomes available” where the price used to be.
God this guy is annoying. Even worse his comics aren’t even any good.
Dang what’s with all the hate? I personally like Mitch’s EarthBound comics. Maybe this joke upset some people or something.
^In my homeland, they call this lack of tolerance for any humorous whatsoever as “butthurt”. It is an interesting phenomenon.
In my homeland we just call this A bad attempt at trying to get A laugh. xD
Well, all of them are pretty much rhetorical questions. Only a couple tried to make a joke, I’ll give him that.
In my country we call this stuff “not funny at all” and people who agree “people who simply don’t like it” .

I would love to see Itois fishing game rereleased or even translated. Most Important: including all Satellaview DRM!

@ChronoMoogle, you mean Satellaview DLC (DownLoadable Content)? Not sure why anyone would want all the DRM (Digital Rights Management) locking out the game and preventing us from playing, unless there’s something I’m missing..
What is this supposed to represent anyway? It makes no sense. Is this implying that Itoi will release Bass Fishing alongside EarthBound? If so, what’s the deal? I liked the fishing game.
The only reason why this isn’t funny is because it makes no sense to draw this when for the first time in a decade we know for a fact it’s getting rereleased. There’s nothing to speculate about, it was confirmed by Iwata on a worldwide scale with zero chances of misinterpretation.
The only explaination I can think of is that either Mitch drew this before the nintendo direct, when there was actually a lot of buzz about whether or not it was gonna happen and decided to post it only now for some reason, or he lives under a rock and didn’t hear about the virtual console rerelease.
Not bad. If anyone wants to chat about Mr Saturn comic ideas, write in! I’ve got loads of ideas of Mr Saturn visiting places like France & England! LOL 🙂
Fanboys got mad after reading this. You say or draw something a Mother fan doesn’t like, you’re automatically a cold hearted sinic or what you did doesn’t make sense.
Sadly, I have to agree with you Anonymous. The Mother community is completely incapable of accepting those that have differing opinions to the majority. Sure, there are many who do their best to be open-minded and kindhearted….but the overwhelming majority of commentor’s here and on Starmen are completely incapable of tolerating an “I don’t like this” type of oomment (as clearly evidenced in countless topics and comment threads around here) without trying to bully the minority opinion or attack the person who holds it.
It’s the one big flaw/weakness of the Mother community.

^ It’s more that communities in general have hard times accepting conflicting or differing ideas. People join communities and fandoms in the first place because they feel strongly about something, so it is only natural that it’d be hard for people to see the negatives about it.
I think saying the Mother community specifically is a somewhat unfair generalization based on what is likely an outspoken minority of people; the ones who speak the loudest form the caricature that sometimes defines a group or fandom.
Personally, I like seeing Mitch’s comics because of the irony and almost-backward satirical thought that goes into them, but I can see why others may not like them as well because the humor is a more pitch-black, tongue-in-cheek style that can sometimes be uncomfortable if you approach the comic with the wrong mindset.
That are some very good points BB Zombie. I wish to purchase what you are saying. 🙂
Haha! Good!
