A Look at the MOTHER 2 Miiverse

What I find really strange is under shigesato itois bio for Miiverse is that is says he is the “Producer of Earthbound” rather than saying Mother 2…

Which kind of makes me think they are planning on realeasing it hear in te west and got the old legal issues out of the way BUT I won’t get my hopes up to high from just some small detail.

It’s really cool to see all the art and enthusiasm from fans here. I hope the atmosphere remains positive and fun.

And on a side note, if it isn’t too much of a hassle, would you mind identifying the remixes you used for the video? I recognize some but not all of them.

Wow, at the start I saw only a few english comments and then at the end I had to keep pausing the video to read everything! Granted there were some people who just spam hate at Nintendo, and some who spam telling people not to spam, but overall I’m impressed!

Also, great musical selection too Tomato!

Hey, cool, two of my drawings made the video! 🙂 (Scalding Coffee/Mystical Record/Worthless Protoplasm collage and around 18+ min my MST3K “Spiteful Crow” mashup). My NIND is CaptainCab if anyone wants to see more of my EB/Mother cartoons, I’ve posted more drawings to this community than any other, too much fun, it’s like a party.

They remove some posts because SOME people go way too overboard and post comments like “IF EB DOESN’T HIT NOA I’LL CUT REGGIE WITH A RAZOR KNIFE TO KILL HIM!” (Seriously, that was one of the comments I saw there).

I’m wondering how many downloads it will get.

With the sale, it’s basically free. There will be A LOT of downloads just for that… and sadly that will only mean it was cheap (not necessarily popular).

I hope EarthBound comes to EU. I really want to try it out.

I wish itoi would do something for us in america and europe even if he can’t release the game. He could auction off drawings signed by him or some piece of merchandise.

I was on Gonintendo and I saw an article about this video; on the comment section of the article it seemed that everyone was bashing the series as a whole :c

In my experience, people who speak ill of EarthBound fit into two basic categories:

1: People who have never played EarthBound and simply refuse to believe that it could POSSIBLY be as good as the fans say.

2: People who concentrate on the gameplay over the story. Let’s not kid ourselves here…while EarthBound has a few nice touches its contemporaries mostly lacked (rolling HP, insta-win, enemies on the map in general…), the battle system really wasn’t that amazing. Those who don’t generally take the time to explore the world of a game would have a hard time understand why EarthBound is so special.

@thedreaminhawk: Are people REALLY being that graphic? Man, those posts SHOULD be deleted. As long as civil posts such as mine remain, we should be okay…though I still don’t know if it’ll actually matter at all… 🙁
