I noticed a copy of EarthBound that hit eBay just a few hours ago and couldn’t help but post about it:

Look at that poor EarthBound cart 🙁 Adopt it from eBay here and give it a more loving home.
Might need some major face surgery though.

Those jackals.
I would definitely make sure it’s vaccinated first, that thing looks scary! And I’ll second FlyingMan’s comment, $60 for a cart that looks like someone tried to ride it down the street, I don’t think so.
1 bid. At least it will be going to a home that will appreciate him. 🙂 This is weird. I’m getting all fuzzy over a SNES cart.
Oh no, this is like those Sarah Maclachlan animal shelter commercials! I seriously want to buy it now.
I cried a little on the inside when I saw it.
I don’t think it needed a $60 start though…if its in this condition maybe half that as a starting point.

I remember when pristine Earthbound carts sold for $50…
.____.
Hey Mato, I just bid 100 bucks on this. I’m desperate for an Earthbound cart, and if I can get this one for 50 bucks cheaper, then thats awesome. Thanks for the tip!
Anyone have any suggestions for repairing, should I win? I could print a label on the computer, but I’d like it to look as good as possible.

If I had a game that was in that condition, I’d probably just remove the label entirely and give the cartridge a good cleaning.
I always did wonder how things like this happen to game carts, poor ol’ EarthBound 🙁
I won it! I’ll give it a facelift after it gets here, and send an email in with the happy result =) Maybe i’ll throw a pic in a forum topic here too, if anyone wants to see it.

Dang, even this beat up cart went for $117. I bet all the other SNES games are jealous 😛
MrStaplez, PLEASE DO! I think we all want to see this poor little guy cleaned up and looking good. “Every gamer’s crazy about a sharp-dressed cart.”
LOL Mato. E.V.O. might not be too jelly.
That’s why I keep my EarthBound cartridge right next to my monitor, so that I may keep my eyes on it at all times.
I already have an EarthBound cartridge. I don’t need another one. Also, I like my games to be in a better condition that that copy of EarthBound.
If i had tried to sell that cart, I would give it a face lift to make it look buyable first.
I’m glad I got both of my copies for free… and I’m selling one. Already sold for $99. sorry guys. But seriously. Both my copies are about 12 years old and They both look almost new. I kept them safely stored and I never abused them.
But, Seriously. Mint condition or not. Why are Earthbound carts so expensive?
OH. MY. GAWD. It’s $60. If that doesn’t just take the cake of all things ridiculous.
I certainly hope someone with some serious disposable income can grab this poor little guy and somehow make another shirt for him. He’s half-naked, scared, lonely, and we already know he STINKS.
