Tips for Buying EarthBound

December 26th, 2011 | EarthBound, Images

Esther Zinn recently sent this in:

I was one of the unlucky people who didn’t win the Earthbound poster a couple of weeks ago (lol.) So I decided to contact Adam Shub, an artist who specializes in creating paintings of retro video game scenes to paint my cat and I waiting outside of the Chaos Theater for tickets, because that’s my favorite area of the game. Adam, who is also just as much of an Earthbound fanatic, was more than happy to oblige and created an awesome painting that actually looks like a screenshot of the game!

His website is here, complete with a portfolio of other projects he’s done (including other Earthbound paintings: link

I gotta agree, I think having a painting of something like this would be awesome to have hanging on a wall. Some of his past stuff here is pretty cool!

Awesome painting. I think that it actually looks better then the earthbound poster since its and actual scene from the game.

Did this have any inspiration from my comment about wanting EB artists to design a poster?

That painting is awesome. If he can do great custom art like that, he would be a perfect candidate for making a fan poster.

Im impressed! Any one know if he sells/ custom makes painting by order?

He does do custom work, if I remember from the last time speaking with him. I’ve got four paintings by him, myself. I just wish he’d sell his awesome Saturn Valley painting.

If you get the chance to go, (insert shameless plug) MAGFest 12 is being held the first week of January, and Adam will be there to sell some of his wares. You should go not only because the con is awesome, but you can also help support this dude!

Thanks for putting this up, Mato! 🙂 I was really happy with Adam’s work. Maybe next I’ll have him paint the cat and I sharing a table with Master Belch at the Stoic Club, haha!

Re: JesusLovesNess

Yes, he does do paintings for order…we met at New York Comic Con, where he had a painting of Paula for sale, and we talked about EB for like 30 minutes, haha. After I came up with the Chaos Theater idea, it took him about three to four weeks to paint it, and I think he did an awesome job! He’s a really friendly guy too, very cool and great to work with!
