I came across a Japanese site with lots of interesting stuff that I’ll post over time, including some interesting interviews. For now though, here are scans of some MOTHER 1 promotional material from the August 4-18, 1989 issue of Famicom Tsuushin.
I don’t own a copy of the magazine so these are the best pics available for now. I couldn’t find this particular issue on Yahoo Auctions Japan either, but I’m sure it’ll turn up someday. If anyone does find a copy, let us know and/or scan this stuff, it looks cool!
Anyone have CSI-style enhance for the comic? I think there might be more to it than just that one page too, I’m not sure.

Is that MOTHER logo there on the real comic page? Because it looks like its covering up some parts of the panels and a little bit of a speech bubble.
But yeah, the style of the artwork is what’s most intriguing to me. Especially Teddy in the second panel and Lloyd in the last one 😛

The comic looks like something Nintendo Power would have put out if EB Zero released when it was supposed to.
Like those sweet Shotoro Ishinomori Zelda comics, or those Super Mario bits, those were the daaaays…

Not in many years, I’m afraid. Used to read it religiously when I was a kid. Somewhere around here I have a copy of that CD-ROM compilation they put out in the late 90s. 🙂
