EarthBound the Musical!

Just saw this show up on eBay a few minutes ago. It’s a complete copy of EarthBound (cart, guide, box, inserts, the whole thing!) along with some rare bonus promotional stuff that I’ve heard about but never actually ever seen. You can see the auction here.
The extra bonuses are:
- “EarthBound Times” Mock Newspaper — designed to mimic the newspapers in the game, this paper describes the launch of this amazing SNES game
- EarthBound Original Press Release — this is NOT a photo copy — it’s on Nintendo Press Release letterhead.
- EarthBound Original Fact Sheet — also on Nintendo Press Release letterhead
- 5 Additional Earthbound “Scratch & Sniff” Cards — same as in the Player’s Guide — but allows you to Scratch & Sniff your way through the game and keep the cards in the guide in PERFECT condition. (That’s awesome…)
The price is a bit high for my blood, but many really good quality complete sets will get snatched up right away for at least $300 (hell, that new one went for over $1000!) so the price doesn’t seem too absurd given these super-rare extras.
I swear, the past week or so has been pretty interesting for EarthBound collectors! If anyone gets ahold of this, let us know more about the stuff!

I believe it’s from a press release pack. I recognize it, but I’m having trouble finding more about it. I know someone on the SM.Net forums talked about it a good while back. Or maybe it was on one of my EBC posts.

Wow, all this one of a kind promo stuff in one week! If only I had more money. Oh well, hopefully whoever buys it will scan the press materials.

If I hadn’t just bought a laptop, I’d probably snatch this awesome set. I actually don’t yet have a complete set of the game(I have a used copy of the game and a Player’s Guide), so this would be the perfect addition to my collection.
Heh, my first thought upon seeing this was: Does it come with the ruler?

Just when I was wondering what would be the perfect backdrop on my EarthBound shelf… this newspaper shows up.
I really hope a Fangamer buys this so we can know what it says, I’m still trying to buy that damn ruler. Been trying for a year.

This looks incredible. I made an offer, but I doubt I’ll get it. I had to try though, it’s one of those things so rare that if I didn’t at least make an attempt, I’d regret it forever. :[

Hm… REALLY thinking of picking this up over the EB0 prototype… I’m willing to drop $500, but I’m curious about the condition. I want TOP-NOTCH. 🙂

I wonder how much it’ll end at. I know it’ll go higher than $300 since I’ve seen complete sets go for that much. I’m guessing will end at around $750 but thats just a guess.

Well it’s BIN, so it’ll go no higher than $500. 🙂 People are offering $450 or so, but he’s waiting to see if anyone will BIN… If he can provide some higher-res pictures, I’ll snag it and (get scans of EVERYTHING for the community.
