8-Bit MOTHER 3 Music

I love the sound of 8-bit.

Hey now, these are pretty awesome. This kinda makes me want to see a Mother 1 styled Mother 3…

Erm, these were likely dragged and dropped into GXSCC. Do correct me if I’m wrong. Still cool however.

@Gummidge: Probably not. GXSCC has completely different drumsets.

I suspected as much. I could argue that there are multiple drumsets in GXSCC, but I can’t be arsed to investigate and I’d rather just enjoy the mixes.

I’m sure Tomato will get right on the retroification of MOTHER 3 for us 😀

Just to clear things up a bit, i don’t use GXSCC, in fact i hadn’t even heard of GXSCC until today.

(I’d also like to point out that after seeing what kind of sound GSXCC produces, it sounds nothing like the good old NES sound chips)

GXSCC actually produces chiptunes using a Sound Chip that Konami used on the MSX, a really great old Japanese computer. I believe it has an option to switch it to the Famicom Sound chip, but I don’t know, it’s still not as cool as this.

Doesn’t sound 8-bit (or at least like NES) at all.

I’m not a music expert, but first of all, the NES doesn’t have stereo sound.

And secondly, the instruments are way off

I just checked, and all this guy did was take the Mother 3 MIDIs from vgmusic.com (which people actually sequenced themselves) and changed the sound font. That “Dedede Jr.” guy did the same thing. Tomato, you should stop posting these “renditions” that people have claimed as their own.

I noticed that the 8Bit Mother3 Love Theme is actually 8Bit Mom’s Hometown.

It doesn’t have to sound like it came from a NES to be considered 8bit. There are other consoles, like the Commodore 64, Amiga, gameboy DMG, etc…

The Pork Trooper theme’s great.

Yes. The Fassad/Pigmask Captain music was a little different and harder to get combos on.

With the 8-bit Fassad theme, my hand can’t help but twitch to the beat trying to hit an invisable button. He was such a pain on hard mode!

Nice, I haven’t heard any 8-bit renditions of any MOTHER song even though I’ve searched several times on 8bc. Now all I need to hear is Natural Killer Cyborg on a Genesis sound chip.

But these are really cool too. And trust me, I’ve used GXSCC and these sound WAY more authentic… and they don’t sound like any Mother 3 MIDI’s I’ve heard.

Just an update, I have good news, and I have bad news, which do you want to hear first?
No, I’ll start with the BAD news. 😉

I know I said the next round of 8-Bit renditions would be posted a week after these (if you read up above, near the top) and “depending on how things go” is what I said. 😉
For those who were waiting, the news wasn’t that great, I had exams, real life issues etc.
The Mother 2 save archive had higher priority anyway, sorry to those who were waiting.
Nonetheless, here’s the good news:D
Now that’s all out of the road it means the next round of songs is coming soon! So either expect to see them on either EBC, or here as I’ll post a link to them.

The Fassad/Pork trooper music is called “Misplaced Revenge” in game, but “Unfounded Revenge” In Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

i always love porkys theme no matter how it sounds

porkeys theme just doesnt sound good 8 bit. its not just yours, its all of them, it just needs that bass in the background.
the other 2 were awesome
