mrsaturn95 is a master of techno-art: (click for big) I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen that many floppy disks, much less in Ness form 😯 ...Read More »

Today is Halloween, so it’s a good time to post some Halloweeny stuff! So my obvious choice was Radiation’s Halloween hack of EarthBound from last year. As far as EarthBound hacks go, it’s really advanced and complete. It even has custom music, which is crazy hard to hack in EarthBound 😯 It’s probably important to mention that the hack does have horror and mature the...Read More »

You know how in Happy Happy Village, the Insane Cultists will call for other Insane Cultists? Well, Starmen.Net forumgoier Murcielo happens to be insane too: For those of you who may recall, I managed a 502 Insane Cultist battle back during EBFGP, and I stated back then that I would defeat 1,000 Insane Cultists in a single battle; well, turns out…. I failed for now. I have been relatively busy w...Read More »

The other day I was browsing Japanese Google for Japanse MOTHER stuff and one of the top results was this site that I’d never seen before: Another System 1983 Basically, the idea behind the site is: “What if there hadn’t been new game consoles after the Famicom/NES? What would our current games look like?” And then the site’s creator makes mock-up screenshots of title...Read More »

Last month I posted about how Toys R Us started a game trade-in service and how you could get $0.50 for your copy of EarthBound (see here). Last night I was browsing Amazon and I guess I never noticed it before, but Amazon recently started a video game trade-in service too. And it looks like they’re buying EarthBound for $20. That’s a heck of a lot better than TRU’s $0.50, but i...Read More »

Fangamer has been providing fans with interesting merchandise for a while, especially lots of EarthBound-related stuff. Their latest offering is a combo pack of epic proportions: You can check out the details here, but basically it comes with a very fancy, custom-made shirt with a custom tag (see action pics here), a gold-plated Franklin pin, a specially-made hat with custom logos (which you can ...Read More »

Aquas recently sent in this info about an upcoming piano CD thing in Japan: “Nobuo Uematsu’s record label will be releasing the first in a series of retro game arrangement compilations in late November. Titled “Pia-com,” the album will feature piano performances by Keita Egusa of the KALAYCILAR – EP. Source material includes Elevator Action, Mappy, Final Fantasy II an...Read More »

As many know by now, xfis is one crazy dude. Just check out his YouTube videos here – that’s only like 5% of his insanity level 😯 Anyway, he recently posted a “lost” episode of his /earthbound series, in which he re-enacts stuff from EarthBound in real life, usually in front of crowds of people. This particular episode is him walking around as one of the Trick or Trick K...Read More »

Long-time EarthBound fan Kyosuke works and lives in Japan teaching English to schoolkids (and doing game translating on the side). Just recently he came up with an EarthBound-themed card game as a learning activity for his students: I’m an English teacher for 3 elementary schools as most of you already know. I try to come up with new ideas for games all the time and recently I made a new car...Read More »

Ratheronfire sent this in the other day about a Mr. Saturn image in a Metroid-related texture in Smash Bros. Brawl: I’m not sure if you’ve seen this before, but Nintendo hid a Mr. Saturn sprite in the Metroid texture. You can only see it by looking in the texture file, since it’s hidden in the actual game. My friend showed me this a minute ago. (click for big) I don’t hav...Read More »
