Tips for Buying EarthBound

July 3rd, 2009 | Audio Stuff, EarthBound, Smash Bros., Videos

A little while back, O-Suchin posted a video of a custom stage in Smash Bros. Brawl based on Giygas’s “Devil’s Machine”. Most custom levels in Brawl are kind of meh, but this one seems kind of neat actually. It even includes a custom song by Tansunn, though I think the only way to change songs like that is to hack the game/modify your Wii. Anyway:

The song, btw, is called Enter Giygas. You can download it here if you’re interested.

That’s awesome.

You mean this song wasn’t in Brawl? They really had a lot of potential for a great soundtrack with Earthbound…

I would pay $100 for a copy of Brawl with that song. 🙁
Ah well, I downloaded that stage through the magic of SD card. Also, to my knowledge, changing songs is still not possible.

Changing songs is actualy possible, but at the moment I dont think its worth the effort or the DVD you have to burn it onto.

Ness and Lucas are terribly inacurate.

Awesome. I just found that vid yesterday shortly before you posted it here. 🙂

I don’t think he had the song in the game. I think he recorded the video with the sound option having music off and sound effects on, then he added the music while he was editing.

The custom stage is awesome, BTW.

I wish this song was in Brawl. Pokey Means Business for the world!

Also that stage is pretty cool.

Tansunn said on Jul. 4, 2009

It’s possible that he could have just muted the music in-game and then overdubbed it afterward. I know Penguin was working on putting the song in Brawl via hacking and actually got the song in a working, looped Wii format, but I’m not sure if he actually got the game to play it or not. It’s hard to tell how this guy implemented it because it doesn’t get to the loop point in the song.

Whatever the case, it’s super awesome hearing my music in the game. 😀

I swear I heard Ronald McGiygas in there for a split second.

O-Suchin said on Jul. 4, 2009

Muted the music, left in sound effects, manually added in the song.

Jeagle101 said on Jul. 5, 2009

I wouldn’t mind having that stage myself :O

Hacking songs into Brawl is possible. It is kind of like hacking textures in the game, except from what I heard, it is more work.

Omg that song should have been in Brawl. The drumbeat of the second part in the heavy metal portion sounded a little different though.

Lucas4ever473562 said on Jul. 12, 2009

Let me guess the players: Lucas, Ness, Claus, and Ness’ double Ninten. Am I right…?

I think I killed Enter Giygas when I first discovered Rock Candy. I prefer Nitemare Rock as my favourite fan version of Pokey Means Business now(besides Katon’s version).

PKSTARMAN said on Jul. 21, 2009

You are wrong Lucas4ever473562… Its Ness, Lucas, Claus and… Ness in Mr. Saturn clothes.
