Tips for Buying EarthBound

May 5th, 2009 | Audio Stuff, EarthBound

Here’s another of my all-time favorite fan songs 😀

This one’s called PSI Piano Omega and was made by Shnabubula. I had never heard it until last year’s EarthBound Funktastic Game Play. I know as much about music as a dead log would, but I found this to be really interesting because of the way it plays with the original song and creates new things from it. And I like solo piano stuff 😛

Lol I have this from the Rock Candy 1 CD that I downloaded off Starmen.net

Great rendition of the song, one of my faves on the album.

You know, I can’t really remember anything to do with the piano doing really well in mainstream media since Vangelis’ “Chariots of Fire”. I wonder if it’s an art that has fallen away from the taste of mainstream society for good?

Good track. 🙂 I was listening to this the other day. It’s part of Rock Candy 1.

Ah yeah, that song is really well done. I love how something so simple can breathe so much life with a bit of tweaking and originality.

It’s epic, no butts about it.

I love pretty much everything Shnabubula does. He also has a lot of well done chiptunes, and his “Playing Super Mario World while Doing Mushrooms” (or something like that) is hilarious.

Sorta reminds me of an old PC game; either Monopoly or the Sims. Maybe both.

No wait! Definitely Charlie Brown. That’s it.

One of my favorite Earthbound arrangements, and probably my second favorite Shnabubula song. First place is reserved for ‘Playing Super Mario World While Taking Mushrooms’: http://remix.thasauce.net/song/RTS0154/

(Hilarious, I listened to this 20 minutes ago, and now it’s onsite.)

I have been listening to this excessively during the last week, after discovering it in Rock Candy. Definately the best one in the whole CD.

Glad to see it got reckognized.

This is actually one of my most listened to songs according to itunes. She (he? Shnabubula that is) also has some other songs- one in particular called Stone Eyes (The Great Warrior). I think it’s from Final Fantasy, but anyway yeah. Shnabubula: great artist.

This song is one of my favourite songs of the series, and this is a great rendition.

He went a little crazy and it just sounded like crap… The parts that were actually Omega were alright.

Anonymous said on May. 5, 2009

I agree, he went a little crazy there. BTW it’s Paula’s Theme.

I know music is all opinion, but I honestly have to say that there’s no bad part in this song. She may have “gone crazy” at parts, but I can’t tell you how tired I get hearing the same unchanged themes over and over. The craziness is great, the whole song is great.

This maybe a little random, but is there any EB-related piano sheet music available? Either fan-made or to buy? I was just listening to this and I wondered about that.

MOTHERMoondance-- said on Jul. 23, 2009

Well, I got around to get the Eight Melodies for EB, but they’re on my old, dead PC.
