Tips for Buying EarthBound

April 22nd, 2009 | EarthBound, Images

bomberman72 posted this on the GameFAQs forums earlier, and it seemed pretty cool, so here you go πŸ˜€

This is an Etch-A-Sketch drawing I made of Giegue. Sorry the image quality isn’t that great (I took it using my camera phone). So what do ya think. This was actually based off an existing drawing. It isn’t the most accurate drawing of Giegue but whatever. I do however plan to make an ORIGINAL drawing of “The Devil’s Machine”. I’ve just started sketching it and it’s coming out pretty well. I’ll post it when I finish it.

I can barely even draw anything besides a square with one of those things, so this is pretty crazy awesome. I think I’ve seen the picture this was based off too, but I can’t seem to find it. Anyway, cool πŸ˜€

Very cool indeed. I feel compelled to mention that the original drawing was done by Gonmon: http://starmen.net/vote/vote.php?id=11936

I love Etch-A-Sketch art. It’s a very odd, but very amazing art style. Much like our MOTHER games. Very odd, very amazing.

Good grief….. some people have way too much time on their hands…. and then there’s people like this guy that use their time towards awesome stuff like this!

I can’t do anything besides a bunch of squiggly lines on one of those things. Kudos to you Etch-A-Sketch master.

It’s such a shame knowing that an accidental nudge is enough to ruin a piece like this…

I’m just glad it’s not that one retarded cutesy style that people seem to keep drawing Giegue in.

Stuffgamer1 said on Apr. 23, 2009

There was an article in N-Power a while back about a guy who did several Nintendo Etch-A-Sketch pictures, and perfected a way to open them in such a way that the picture would stay forever, suitable for display without fear. Wouldn’t THAT be awesome to have done with this picture? I don’t know how the guy did it, though.

Hey, I drew that! ^^
I’m amazed someone thought it was good enough to be featured on Earthbound Central! As mentioned earlier it was based of a drawing by Gonmon.

It isn’t as good as the actually drawing but I tried to replicate it as best I could. There is only so much that can be done on an Etch-A-Sketch.

Holy modesty dude. Go look at my fanart on Starmen.net: I can’t even draw that well with a pencil πŸ™‚

How the Hell did you do that? That must have taken 20 years and the steadiest hands EVER MADE!

Leirin said on Apr. 28, 2009

Wow, that is sensationally good stuff right there. I could only make uneven stairs with those things. 😐 But perhaps the device’s limits are part of its charm…
