Tips for Buying EarthBound

February 14th, 2009 | EarthBound, Videos

One of my favorite EarthBound fan creations is this fake Runaway Five documentary called Runaway Dreams: The Runaway Five Story. It’s no surprise that something this creative was put together by Mitch. I had always hoped people would start making things like this, and this turned out great 😀

There’s also an extra video of unused footage here:

For me, the highlight of both videos is Jeff, by far. Jeff needs his own show or something. His own web series or something would rock so much 😀

Tony… that’s a strong, masculine name.

XD Hehehehe, brilliant. I had to stop a couple times during the second one to laugh.

“John Cleese is an old, wrinkly muppet.”
“YOU’RE an old wrinkly muppet!”
“There’s all kinds of things wrong with that argument…”

Oh man. I haven’t seen this before. It’s freakin’ awesome. And yes, more Jeff pls.

That guy could play Jeff in the EarthBound movie. You guys are working on that, right? Good.
Or at least an EB.net sieges the NOA movie. That would be EPIC. I STILL read that fanfic at least once a year. DO A SEQUEL!
Sure, he’s not blonde, but characters don’t have to look EXACTLY the same. Look at the DragonBall movie.

So… you hearin’ me, Mato? Project: Sparkle needs SUPPLIMENTARY materiel or a sequel.
I’m probably the only one who wants that, though…
But many of you have to admit- a sequel WOULD be nice. Especially the addition of new characters. There are MANY prominent forum-goers to choose from.
Also, and I don’t know how, but the new story MUST contain the song “Respect”.

A few months after Project Mr. Sparkle we did start on a sequel, except it quickly turned into a “me too me too” thing and it started to suck real fast. I don’t remember how far it ever got, and I’m pretty sure no early copies exist, but I recall something about giant Bill Gates and him being defeated by a blue screen of death or something. I forget, but it wasn’t good 😛

I’m glad you like it and still remember it. That reminds me that I should probably mention it somewhere on EB Central sometime. I haven’t read that thing in a long time. To think it’s been 10 years already…

Enjoyable videos.

Almost makes me want to try something like this.

Thanks for posting this ‘Mato! Glad you all enjoyed our video! It was an absolute blast to make and we definitely want to make more like it in the not-too-distant future.

Ah, I see. Well, I wouldn’t want a sequel if it wouldn’t be good. It just seems that it’s been a LONG time since you’ve done something like that. You’ve learned a LOT since then, and I believe if you attempted it now… it might turn out pretty well.
I mean, I READ it when I was… like… 10? I STILL chuckle when Reidman flashes back to his IRC days and goes on a kicking rampage.
And who WOULDN’T love the visual of you acting like Mr.T and pitying the fools?
God KNOWS there was plenty of foolishness to go around.
Though I’m not so sure if you’d have a subject… I mean, MOTHER 3 was released in this world AND your fictional one.
Well, I don’t want to sound demanding… I’m sure ALL of you have a lot on your plate. That being said, how could you get together NOW to write something like that? Especially with the site getting bigger every day.
Well, either way… think on it.
In case you have the time, you should read it again. At least for the sake of nostalgia.
