Seems like they're popping up left and right lately? Anything we can do to combat them?

The main site was getting lots of spam registrations over the past few months, so the other day I set up a plugin to keep them out. Seems strange that suddenly spam starts showing up here instead.

If it'll help, I can assign some more mods here.

These spam bots are really abnoxious. I can't stand seeing ads and spam on a forum that rarely gets any of that.

the best thing to do is just hit the report button and have a mod sweep it up later. although i dont think adding more and more mods would help the problem.

yeah the community usualy finds them before I do on the forum I'm a mod at, that place is always under attack with spam bots but the group of 3 mods really kicks their asses so hard that most people aren't even aware that it's constantly under attack with spam bots. so yeah report button does wonders.

I don't know how it works here. but on the forum I'm a mod at, we all get emails in our real email address to alert us. that way if our PM box is maxed out we still get the message

Out of curiosity, do we have one of those things with the picture of letters that the person has to type in before they can make an account? Would that help?
