Seriously, this site needs its own Pokemon Topic. Feel free to discuss anything or post what you're looking for. Feel free to trade pokemon or exchange FC's for battle here.
For those of you who are cool and have Pokemon Heart Gold or Soul Silver, Yellow Forest for the Pokewalker is now available via Mystery Gift.
If you haven't done so, download it now and go catch you some flying or surfing pikachus!

I'm curious about the Pokewalker, actually. Does it really level up your Pokemon, or can it only be used to find items and battle other nearby Pokemon trainers? Difference sources say it does different things.

From my experience, the most accurate source of info for the Pokewalker is Serebii.net's page for the device. The Pokemon do level up, but only once each time they go onto the walker. So even if you keep it there for a month and walk 5000 steps every day, the maximum you gain is one level until you send the Pokemon back to your DS and back to the walker again. You can find items and wild Pokemon and you can hold up to three of each and send them to your DS quickly without sending the Pokemon back. You can interact with other players' walkers, but only to mystery gift; no battles and trades. Each player gets a random item when you mystery gift and that item does not count towards the 3 item limit. You can mystery gift with as many people as you can find, but only once per day with each person. The thing is really simple, but actually pretty fun on the go, in between classes or wherever. It's also a kind of rewarding way to start walking or jogging and keeping your legs toned and fit!

I'm really glad yellow forest is finally out. I'm not too fond of pikachu but its nice to finally be able to do a wifi event. I wound up accidentally setting my alarm to 4AM rather than 7AM this morning. Before I went back to bed I got yellow forest off of mystery gift at four in the morning. Apparantly though if you want to get any of the really good stuff from yellow forest you need to walk around 10,000 steps which is around five miles. On top of that I think your step count gets reset once a day (I could be wrong about the reset thing but if some one could politely correct me that would be nice, if I am wrong).

I don't really like the new pokemon games that much, but I loved the first two gens. I'm interested in this gold and silver stuff, but I don't like buying remakes if I've already played the original, as I'd rather spend money on something completely new.

Back in the day, events were scattered and rare in the US, but now they are common and easy to find. And I like the way they distributed Yellow Forest over Wifi instead of at Gamestop. Now I don't mind going to Gamestop, and looking like a nerd who never grew up asking to download the shiny Pichu, but like any store, many Gamestop workers are stupid or not knowledgeable about how do run those events. Needless to say, I never got my shiny Pichu >_> And I have yet to find a download for the wondercard or the PKM file. Anybody have one for trade?
