The sites seperated a long time ago. And it was for the right reasons. From what I heard, they seperated because of fear Starmen.Net losing what it had gotten. Is this true, I don't know. But it's best that they remain seperate forums and boards.

(Also, Earthbound Central is like for EarthBound news. Starmen.Net is more for like, fan stuff really)

The way I know it, the story went like this:

In the 1990's, Starmen.net was formed. It grew into the big site we know today.
Mato co-founded the site, and in 2008, he made a blog to showcase random Earthbound facts that weren't SM.net front-page worthy, per se, but that were still cool and worth recording somewhere. That blog is Earthboundcentral, and this forum was built onto it a year or two back.

It's not that they separated; they weren't ever really together in the first place, as far as I can recall.
(If somebody remembers differently, please correct me. :) )

oh, so that's how that works. I was with Earthbound Central first, so I don't really know too much about SM.net.

Yeah I like having them seperate. Like Radic said each site does something different. Starmen.net is more for fan stuff, and I always come to EBC for any news on the series.

EBC in my opinion is a hell of a lot better than starmen.net (imo). Mainly because the community here is a lot smaller and everybody knows everybody. Starmen.net's fanbase is way too big and a lot of the rules there are a lot more stricter than EBC (last time I checked). Also ever since SSBB came out the site flooded with 10-14 years olds that don't know how to read rules before posting on a forum and get butt hurt whenever one of the mods correct them. I (hope) EBC doesn't get the same problem but judging by a lot of grammar errors it could also be flooding with more of them or foreign people who don't know English quite well...

I'm not gonna bash starmen.net but size is the main reason I prefer EBC. I prefer a smaller forum since I can say I know most of the active users here. Not that a large forum is bad but a smaller forum is a personal preference for me.
