*shrugs* I don't know you, but I know you've broken a law. we all have. all I need to know is that your human and you exist. just because you've never gotten in trouble doesn't mean you haven't broken a law. could be something simple like not checking your tire clearance before you move your car. or forgetting to use a turn signal (or turning it on too late). point is, we are humans, not gods. we make mistakes. and accidentally breaking the law. is still breaking the law. but I know. nobody downloads roms on accident.

although. wouldn't it be awesome if there was a virus out there that downloaded earthbound related roms. :D then we could just have our computer get infected and say it's not our fault the rom is there :P

Yeah lol :P
But I have a question about ROMs: why download one if you already own the game cartridge?

back up copy, rom hacking reasons, to own both a legal copy and an illegal copy. so you can own more earthbound than you would be able to legaly. plus. the obvious one. why not. to study to the programing of the game. so you can do some assembly work on it. and make your own games. to play other peoples rom hack new games. there are TONS of great wonderful great reasons to own a rom of the wonderful game earthbound. even if you own a legal copy of the game.

what kyoo said, you can't do cart-hacking :P Unless you have a prototype and are foolish enough to erase all of the programming written on it, and re-programming it, but not all of us here have that potential :ugeek: Also, ROMs have a much better chance of not messing up and freezing than a cartridge does, like, take for instance StarTropics, my copy has crashed 3 times, but on ROMs, it's never happened to me, only on MOTHER 3, and that was one bad experience ;)

yeah and if you don't play earthbound for too long. all your saves might erase because of the battery. and when you use an emulator, it's saved on a hard drive and doesn't require a battery to keep your save file. (i've suffered loosing all my save files on the cart once before) I guess that should be incentive to constantly play the game :D YOUR SAVE FILES MIGHT ERASE!

he wrote it bold, I'd believe him he even went through the effort of spelling your entire name out instead of just writing Hex, he must be uber serious hex!

You assume that the gods make no mistake... just look around you!

EarthBound was no divine endeavor, by the way.

EDIT: Hey, the thing is dead! The battery is gone, I bought the thing for 2 bucks. What can I lose?
