Sorry for double post, but I need help.

I'm at the end of Mother 2 with Mato's translation. I get all the way to the Gyiyg battle (past Armed Porky and the Devil's Machine), but then Paula dies and by then I've run out of healing items and PP, so I'm screwed up the wall. Anybody know where I can purchase Horns of Life? I have two HoL and six Secret Herbs. Help, please!

You can always buy Magic Tarts in Summers.
You just talk to the Magic Cake drug dealer lady, and she'll tell you that she can't make any more Magic Cake, but will sell you Magic Tarts instead. It recovers 30 PP, I guess.

Mato, I have a couple questions.

With your tools, is it possible to extend the Mother 1 command menu further? Like, expand it so more text can fit? If so, how would that be done?

And, what about the Mother 2 command menu?

You'll need to edit m1_window_command_menu.bin with a hex editor. I don't have time to explain the format, but it's pretty simple. The important thing is that the [02] signifies a new line, [03] is usually followed by something else, almost like a control code, and almost everything else uses the font table values.

Don't know about Mother 2 stuff, you'll have to figure that out on your own.

By the way, while looking at the eng_table.txt, I noticed a spelling error. It's not a big deal or anything, but "PIZ" is supposed to be spelled "PI". You must've hit Z by accident when writing the file. Just something I thought I'd point out.

No, it's not a typo. Don't change it or you'll get broken stuff.

You can insert bytes into the .bin file if you want. There's a chance the menu won't fully close if you make it too big though.

Dang it, it keeps screwing up! I insert another "fb" in the bottom line, and that pulls the Goods part of the command menu out one spot. So far so good. Insert another "01" to pull out the PSI part, and that pulls it out, but then the Goods gets pulled back one letter, meaning that the cursor overwrites the G when I go down to it. Same for the other stuff. This is frustrating...

Are you inserting new bytes or just overwriting existing ones?
