Mother 1+2 Translation

Is anyone else having this problem?

I downloaded the patch and applied it with Lunar IPS, and when I get done naming all the characters in Mother 2, the game resets. Also, the Mother 1 side is untranslated, and VisualBoyAdvance won't do soft patching for me with this patch and the Japanese ROM (it had no trouble with Mato's Mother 1+2 translation).

I checked with the unaltered ROM and a ROM patched with Mato's translation, and I can get past the naming screen in Mother 2.

You might have a bad ROM if you can't get past the naming screen without the patch applied. You should try with a new, clean ROM and see if that works.

Also, I don't think it matters in this case, but sometimes, when I patch a ROM with an IPS that has a different name, the patched result doesn't work well... You might also want to try naming the patch and the ROM the same thing...

i.e. m12.gba and m12.ips

Are you applying my Earthbound Hack to a Mother 1+2 ROM? If so, then that's your problem. It's a hack of EarthBound, not Mother 1+2. Sorry if that confused you, being in this topic and all...

Ack! I should have read more closely.

I guess I was fooled by the topic "Mother 1+2 Translation" and thought the first IPS patch for the Mother 2 side had been released. Whoops.

I'm sorry. I said it was a hack of "Earthbound", so I assumed people would know it's not for the translation, but apparently PEOPLE DON'T READ! Nah, jk. Anyway, I made a whole other topic for that.

By the way, if there was a patch for the translation, it would be in the first post, not buried in the topic, wouldn't you think?
