A continuation of the discussion from this thread

Hey Onion, what other kinds of stuff do you track and follow?

Lessee.

Seriously:
Katamari Damacy
Noby Noby Boy (there is nothing...?)
Demon's Souls

Just browsing:
Handbills in general (despite their niche popularity in the US I could probably build and populate a whole forum on these alone)
Promo posters in general (all sizes)
Dragon Quest 3, 3SFC, 4, Torneko, Rocket Slime 1+2
Pretty much everything by Love-De-Lic (Moon, Chulip, Tingle, etc.)
Slime merch
Club Nintendo merch
Ni No Kuni
I'm constantly on the prowl for mint, and I do mean mint, copies of famicom games (way too many to list because this is a brand new thing for me)

Anyways I am sort of easing up on collecting. I went absolutely gaga when I first found out about YAJ and proxy bidding and blew a lot more money than I should have on stuff I don't need or, honestly, even want. I collect Mother stuff whenever I can snap it up but every other series is limited to one or two pieces because of space/money concerns. I also tend to avoid toys and plushies because of space but will make an exception for the Mother figures.

ANYWAYS

I don't want to turn this into a two-person conversation. Everybody else, feel free to chime in with your personal faves and show off your collection and/or pine for items you'll never be able to obtain

Well I have some megaman merchandise. At CVS they were selling figures of the different characters and robot masters from the first three games. They were cheap and there was a CVS near me so realistically I could (and got) a few of them. They put them on clearance and now they've been disscontinued so I can't get those figures unless I pay a lot more for them used on ebay. Its dissapointed as I could get them a lot cheaper new at the store before.

I have some final fantasy stuff but not a lot. I have a complete set of Final fantasy with the strategy guide, maps and box, it was only $20 so it was a nice find. I also have a chrono trigger poster but that came with the game I bought. I wish I had more but thats it for merchandise aside from the games themselves. I wish I had more merchandise but most of the time having the game is enough for me. Its a nice bonus being able to see a figure on your shelf or pull out a strategy guide to help you with the game, so I like having merchandise.

There might be some other stuff I left out but I'm not sure.

I collect videogames (that I try to get in the box complete, but not still sealed) and videogame consoles. My philosophy is "It's not worth anything unless you sell it, or can use it." In other words, I don't care about merch that you just collect to sit on a shelf for the rest of your life :P .
I recently picked up a Sega Game Gear with 5 games and an A/C adaptor for a mere 25 dollars. I also picked up a Sega CD Model 1 with a Model 1 Genesis and 32X, because both of my model 2 Genesis consoles had died (and I wanted a Sega CD/32X). My current target is a Sega Saturn, Colecovision, or Vectrex.

Thanks for answering Onion. We have some similar collecting habits. I collect mostly MOTHER as far as video game merch goes, but I've begun to branch off into some other series I like. After getting the Chrono Trigger figures on display, and with the anticipation of the MOTHER figures, I've decided to pick up some more figures from other things, most likely some anime ones if I can find them and not spend an arm and a leg.

I'll collect anything Nintendo that is cool and interesting. I just <3 Nintendo. :P And I'll collect anything that is cool and can be framed and hung on my wall. I love to have things on display, so that's where my love for framed wall-displays and my new-found love for figures come from. They make such awesome display pieces along with some nice simple framing or shelving, respectively.

I generally like smaller sized posters and framables (11x17 are the absolute most awesome and perfect size!), but the EB poster is an exception, and it will shine in all its deserving glory with how big it is.

And I too went pretty crazy when I first started on YAJ.

Not gaming, but I did recently start collecting DVD's of anime series I really like. So far I have Ergo Proxy, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, Elfen Leid, and a cheap Asian budget release of Paranoia Agent (need to get the cash for the real collector's box). On the list is Ghost in the Shell, FLCL, Cromartie High School, Trigun, and possibly others I can't think of atm. But DVD's are lowest priority of my collecting habits.

On a final note, when I own my own dream house one day (which will be built from the ground-up with floor plans designed by myself), I'm going to construct a a home theater/game room which will bring the elegance of a theater into perfect harmony with the coolness and geekiness of a game room. It will have all my EB/MOTHER framed things on the walls - walls which will be purple velvet. There will be matching curtains, lined with shiny gold tassels, and plenty of dimmable neon and UV lighting. The room should also have a bar, and half theater seating, and another half with high-top tables and stools. *beautiful mental picture* :geek:

...or maybe I'll just recreate the Topolla Theater! :o

Oh yeah, back to collections (and reality).

Wow, nice find on the Megaman stuff! Usually that stuff can get expensive at some places. *goes to check out prices at Amazon* hm, about 12-18 dollars there depending on what robot master it is, beats the prices I looked at a different site years ago XD

I have Tengu Man, Swords Man, and Megaman from the MM8 model kit collection, I would love to get Duo, tho he seems super rare. Also, I have X and Bit (the small yellow guy from MMX3) from kits. Also, I got a Dr. Wily playset XD (I also have some Gundams, too XD)

tho, all I have in my apartment for figure stuff is Layer from MMX8 and a Cutsom Robo from a kit. I should grab the other stuff I have and put them in my apartment sometime XD
