I already own an EB cart It was relatively cheap back when I got it (something like 65 bucks). One reason that I don't support ROMs is that I think that for most people they are unnecessary. For a lot of people, they are primarily for hacking, or just because you don't want to spend money. I could understand someone unable to afford a game like Earthbound, but you can get a lot of games (cheap NES games, Most GBA games, some SNES games) for 5 bucks, so its not like many people AT ALL would be unable to afford them. I'm not as lawful as you think. There was a time when I played ROMs!!! I only played games that I had, and for hacking purposes, except for one Japanese only Kirby series game that I was dying to try. This was before I realized that I didn't really need ROMs, or realize how illegal it was. I try not to break the law, but its not like I call the police if someone is setting off fireworks (which is illegal where I am) or would let the kitten die in the lake (unless the lake was deep or cold, because I can hardly swim). I usually try to keep reasonably within the law, but if the law required abortion, as in China, or required sin, I would have to break the law. I DO believe that it is moral to break the law at some points, but unless ROMs are necessary, I don't think I need them. Not to mention that I have yet to find a person who is anti-ROM like I am I don't think that it is EVIL to use ROMs; I just chose not to

I got a complete set in around fall, basically in 2009, it was a complete set for only 190.00, now that's a miracle in itself even though it didn't have the ad, or the scratch-and-sniff cards, or the white game holder, it's still awesome, and I'm against ROM support for EB, unless it's for hacking purposes, in which I completely understand

I'm poor and next to being homeless as I'm jobless. I wasn't making fun of you, I like to see it as playful teasing of a friend. I hope you didn't get offended. I'm a lot like you. there was a time where I'd do nothing but play roms . I had money to buy the games. but something about the word free really got to me. but pretty much the only roms I play are earthbound related (I'll admit I got a few non earthbound Titles) but all my ps1 iso's are from legal back up copies, and when I play sega CD games I use the actual CD. but I thought it was cute that you actually took the time to tell us you would save the kitten. that makes me want to give you a bro hug. but you bet, if I had a job. I'd buy 1 or 2 carts of earthbound (always great to have a backup) even if it is overpriced. it would be worth saving up for.

sometimes i feel kind of frivolous. i gave my original EarthBound cartridge to my best friend. then i bought 2 complete in boxes and 3 backup cartridges hahah. i don't know. i can't get enough of the game. is a backup for a backup for a backup for a backup for a backup too much for the game you love the most in the world?

I agree, you can never have too many copies.

I want to buy the cart, and it is my mission to do so! My budget is probably around $80, most eBay auctions go around that number or a little higher. I really want to add this to my collection, but I don't see me getting this cart anywhere besides eBay with it being so rare. I remember seeing the game at Gamestop in 2002 behind the glass shelves for $25, I really wish I picked it up back then. Edit: Picked one up from someone on a forum for $55!

So uh.. people are pretty nuts about the game huh?
What would be the best way to maximize profits if one were to sell a complete set with all the ads and even the little plastic sleeve the game was nestled in, should I actually consider doing such a thing?
(Yeah, I was particular about my stuff as a kid. I think all my games are in the original boxes...I just need to find the key to the firesafe I locked them in...no, I'm not joking...Good thing EB was too big to fit in there!)

Wait so.. this topic isn't about a sealed Earthbound game, but a graded and resealed Earthbound game?
Then just what the hell could my collection of games worth? (Don't judge me, I don't have a car that works!)
Is there a good, reliable, free game price guide that includes specifications for cart+box+inserts? The only one I can find seems like it's for cart only, but it seems like most of the games I have are near the upper end of the list..
I can almost understand the prices on things like Dragon Warrior or LSSC, but who knew anyone else even knew Tomba existed, much less that they'll pay more than I did over a decade ago?
