One thing I've always liked about EarthBound is that there are some things that you will not find in any other RPG. I guess that's why I grew to like the series so much was because it was so unique. I just wanted to know what unique things people liked most about the series (this includes all three games) that you won't usually find in most other games.

A big thing I've always like is that the battle music has a lot of variety to it. A lot of RPGs have it where there's one theme for bosses, a final boss theme, and just a battle theme for every other enemy. In EarthBound the music changes depending on the enemy and it adds a lot of personality to the game. Even Mother 1 had four or five different battle themes to vary the game up. I like it much more than the generic one theme for bosses, and one theme for every other enemy.

Hilarious jokes, seriously, no other game is like that!

There are plenty other games that have hilarious jokes. Don't pretend EarthBound is the only humorous game.

Yeah, but the jokes arn't that funny. It includes jokes that are common, like the ones where someone is saying brainy stuff, and the other is like . It isn't funny, and it's unoriginal.

There are other funny games, but Earthbound has a style of humor unique to itself (and maybe the other two games in the series, I guess). And Earthbound seems to have a greater quantity of jokes than most games.

Only in the EarthBound series (mother 1) can you be arrested for underage drinking.

Another thing I really thought was a great aspect of Earthbound was the ability to choose things at the start, such as your favorite food and favorite activity, and then see them throughout the game. Even though I went with the defaults, I thought it was a novel idea.

You can make some of your own jokes by creatively selecting the info you enter at the beginning Ty....or in my case by entering immature and inappropriate sexual references for "Favorite Food." (works in Mother 3 also! )

The rolling HP counter is the standout for me. It makes EB battles very different from other RPG's I have played.

The sound effects are huge for me as well. The sound effect for bashing an enemy is pure joy to my ears.

But overwhelmingly, the thing that always gives me that "WOW, THIS GAME IS SO FRIGGIN AWESOME AND I MISS IT SO MUCH" whenever I go back and play is the Runaway 5. Something about watching their shows is just the epitome of enjoyment for me and really represents EarthBound profoundly in my memories. Every time I make it to Chaos Theater and catch that first show, I just get to that place, that place you only get from playing a certain few games. Love the Runaway 5. I was really happy to see them bring back this "game element" in Mother 3.
