Post subject: MOTHER 1+2 Sound Issues?

Has anyone else noticed issues with the sound in MOTHER 1+2? Specifically, MOTHER 1? Specifically the drum/beat sound channel? I'm using Mato's latest patch on M1+2, and after 30-60 minutes of playing, the drum/beat/whatever sound channel is completely out of sync with the rest of the music. Not all songs even use it, so it's really only noticeable in the overworld theme (either of them), the house theme, the shop theme, etc. But it's definitely noticeable. The only way to resync the sound is to reset the game.

I definitely never had this issue when playing EB0 for the Famicom. I'm running the latest GBA emulator for the PSP, but before you shout, "A HA! It's because you're playing it on the PSP, you idiot!", you should know that I played MOTHER 3 on the same system without any issues. :) (Well, that's not true. During boss fights, the sound effect channel would lag ever so slightly, but you could easily resync it by opening and closing the emulator menu).

I can't enjoy "Pollyanna" and "Bein' Friends" with all this desynced music nonsense. D:

Never happened to me (on emulator or flash cart), so I wouldn't know. Sorry. Maybe just an issue with your ROM.

You know, I've had this EXACT same problem. This is an emulator related issue. I played the patch on gpSPhone for iOS and this happened. The emulator you were using, LucasTizma, was likely gpSP (iOS version's a port of gpSP). No matter how fast your platform's running, you're going to encounter sound problems because the emulator is having some difficulty emulating the sound to a perfect level. I even had the same MOTHER 3 problem. Only way to fix this is to debug and update the emulator yourself, or wait for an official update. You're an iOS software engineer, right? You probably have a better idea of what to do than I do!

Always wanted to get into iOS dev....
