The coolest thing about StarTropics is that it was never released in Japan! Haha, take that suckers! Always getting everything that we don't! Woot. .... It's funny how related StarTropics and EarthBound are. Both names are formed by two words that can both be capitalized, but it remains one word; they both were underrated; both awesome; EB was only in Japan and US, while the sequel was only in Japan, whereas ST was in US and EUR only, but the sequel was US only; however both StarTropics are actually on the VC. Oh and they both have yo-yo's as weapons!

really? sombody told me they did away with the yo-yo, SOMEBODY LIED TO ME! ME IS MAD! I didn't get the game on VC because I was sad it didn't have a yo-yo
if Earthbound Didn't exist my favorite RPG's would probably be in this order
Final Fantasy 8 Dragon Quest 5 Final Fantasy 9 Chrono Cross Dragon warrior 3 Chrono Trigger Final fantasy 5 Final fantasy 3 (DS NES remake) Final fantasy 6 Secret of Evermore (I love the alchemy system and I have no friends so I don't need multilayer ) Legend of Mana Secret of Mana
and that places a lot of the ones I had in the middle on the bottom in a different order. why? because earthbound got me to see things in these RPG's that I wasn't able to see in them before I played Earthbound (like Secret of mana should be right under Dragon quest 5 and final fantasy 9 should be where chrono trigger is etc etc etc.
Earthbound has changed the way i view and enjoy all RPG's if it wasn't for earthbound, i believe I might even go as far as to say I'd actually enjoy Final fantasy 13

They didn't get rid of the island yo-yo, they just renamed it to the Island Star.

haha, is that all? as long as they didn't alter the graphics, I could still enjoy it. I'd just imagine that somebody named their yoyo. like when I had a baseball bat I named it Gutsy

If the Mother series didn't exist I probably wouldn't have the two super Famicom games I have:Mother 2 and hoshi no kirby super deluxe nor would I be crazy enough to decide to make a deal to be able to choose anything I want under or near $100 on the internet even Earthbound! I just sacrifice anything I could of gotten and anything else I might of wanted for the end-of-year holiday this year! I also probably wouldn't be planning to buy a Famicom next year!

Well Mother fans would be devastated, as for non-Mother fans... Well, Ness wouldn't be in Super Smash Brothers, so they would have put in one of the other characters they were considering but didn't make the cut. That means Balloon Fighter or Meowth would have probably have taken Ness' place. Meowth as a playable character in SSB... *shudder* Balloon Fighter would be pretty cool though

Balloon fighter in smash bros might be nice but not if it was at the cost of Ness. But I've recently been getting more and more into mega man these past few months so I might have gotten into that. Either way I wouldn't be into RPGs if it wasn't for EarthBound.

I would've epiclly failed at reading Lord of the Flies if it hadn't been for Mother 3. I know, Mother 3 wasn't exactly some super deep game with the Chrono Trigger story, but it did help me notice that I really have to dig deeper and try to feel for the characters.
