Post subject: The solution to not having Earthbound on virtual console
PostPosted: Fri Jun 29, 2012 7:12 am
Look guys, I know we are all sad about Earthbound not coming out on Virtual Console for the Wii, but, before you cry any longer, let me tell you what I did to solve this. [Note:I will not e leaving any links to any websites or downloads, all I simply can do is tell you to Google it. :o -_-]
What I did, was install The Homebrew channel on my Wii. The Homebrew channel let's you download apps and utility's and such. So i browsing through the apps and found an emulator section. There are tons of other emulators there including almost all of the Nintendo cosnoles, but I was mainly focused on the NES, Super NES, and the GBA/GBC/GB type emulators. So I downloaded those. Then after that, I downloaded the ROMS of my choice[Earthbound Zero, Earthbound, and Mother 3 with the translation patch] on to the system [Emulator] I wanted it on. Now I can play the Earthbound series all on my Wii! :)
So what do you guys think? To make this topic more interesting, tell me how this worked out for you (if you did it) also, talk about you favorite Earthbound moments on any of the games in the Earthbound/Mother series.

or you could get an EZ flash IV. I can even provide a full tutorial to putting mother 3 and mother 1+2 on it and changing the skins(when you request it). I prefer this cuz its portable. (oh and earthbounder, Im not saying your way is bad, just trying to give options! Welcome aboard btw)

Playing legally is always best, though :)

I used an emulator when I was trying to decide if Earthbound was worth emptying my wallet for. And frankly, I wasn't willing to invest that kind of cash on a game I'd never played (in case it sucked), so I found a way to play the game first. And THEN I emptied my wallet for it :D

Earthbound. Because some games are ABSOLUTELY worth legally owning, but giving a fancy sports car a test drive before you buy it is a good idea, too. :)

I'd try this, but unfortunately, Mother 2 is the only GBA Mother game not fully fan-translated into English.

Well, seeing as you guys are only on the plot-relevant dialogue in Onett, it might be awhile.

But I'm looking forward to the full translation anyway :D

I bought a GCW Zero (check it out here, http://game-consoles-worldwide.com/) So I could play EB along with tons of other games on the go. It'll be able to play anything up to N64/PSX. Here's the forum with all the info, or most of it. http://boards.dingoonity.org/other-game-systems/gcw-zero/

Advertisement much? Yes, either way, check it out.
