I like Destructoid stuff, and the idea of consulting a psychic about upcoming E3 stuff just adds to that pile of fondness I have for the site. But what I found most interesting in that visit to the psychic was that she predicted that MOTHER 3 would be released on the Nintendo DS. Of course, I don’t really believe that stuff, but it’s awesome that the question was even asked And since...Read More »
When MOTHER 1+2 and MOTHER 3 were first announced in April 2003, things were pretty exciting. But, little did we know that rumors about the games had been in Japanese magazines since June 2002, almost a full year before Here’s an except from Famitsu Cube+Advance from the middle of June. I don’t know what issue # it would be, though it’d of course be awesome to somehow get a sca...Read More »
Visitor Victor D. informed me the other day that he couldn’t find the MOTHER3+ or MOTHER3i albums on iTunes anymore. So I checked and asked a few other people to check, and it indeed looks like both albums are now gone from everything but Japaense iTunes. It’s not clear why this is, it might have to do with them needing to make DRM-free versions for the iTunes Plus thing by the end of ...Read More »

UPDATE! A much better quality version of the image has been found, see here. Apparently, a new type of game and entertainment service (playable on PC and mobile phone) called “Roid” is planned to be released in Japan. The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu talks briefly about it, and the screenshot it includes is certainly eye-popping: (click for bigger scan) The article doesn’t say...Read More »
A lot of people seem to be confused about the recent no EarthBound on Virtual Console thing. That, or they don’t understand the full story, so I’m going to try to clarify some things as best as I can here. A lot of people are seeing this page that compares a few EarthBound songs to real-life stuff, but that page wasn’t meant to show off legal issues or anything. I made that post ...Read More »
reid posted a big ol’ thing about what the deal with EarthBound on the Virtual Console is, and why it hasn’t come out yet and why it probably won’t come out. Read his quick message here and the full thing here: The Sad Story of EarthBound on the Virtual Console UPDATE: since it seems like a lot of people aren’t understanding the whole story, I’ve written a huge follow...Read More »
According to Siliconera: Brownie Brown says they’d love to make a DS version of MOTHER 3, if they were ever asked to. “If we were asked to make one [a DS version of Mother 3], then we would definitely like for fans abroad to play the game,” Kameoka-san said. Of course, that doesn’t really mean much and doesn’t mean there are any plans in the works. The interviewee was simply ...Read More »
