EarthBound Price Update (Mar. 2012)
A very common question I’ve had over the last year or two – especially within the last few months – is, “I’ve found this version of EarthBound called ‘EarthBound Uncut’ on eBay. Is it an official release? What’s the deal?” It’s true – EarthBound Uncut cartridges have suddenly sprung up everywhere and in a bunch of different forms! H...Read More »
Finding and purchasing Amiibos has been a big headache for a lot of Nintendo fans lately. And with the Ness Amiibo set to come out sometime soon, I imagine the frustration of getting one will have EarthBound fans bashing stuff with bats and yo-yos. But Jon S. has a tip for you if you’re hoping to get a Ness Amiibo without much hassle: Ness Amiibo pre-orders are available now on Amazon.jp I...Read More »
I posted a while ago about the upcoming EarthBound Convention aka EarthBound Bash Mk II aka Camp Fangamer – basically, Fangamer is holding a small, EarthBound-themed convention in Tucson this July. The convention was originally a stretch goal for Fangamer’s Kickstarter last year, so certain backers were allowed to claim tickets first. But now tickets are open to the public! A while back, yui sent me an e-mail about a set of neat EarthBound remixes made by Cory Johnson: I was feeling down today so I searched for EarthBound music arrangements and stumbled upon this cool post-rock album that lifted my spirits. Think Sigur Ròs meets EarthBound, it’s incredible! And here’s the description for the album: This is a sometimes post-rock, sometimes psychedelic-roc...Read More »
A couple weeks ago, a new game called Citizens of Earth was released on Steam and possibly elsewhere. Since the very beginning it was touted as being heavily-inspired by EarthBound. I haven’t played it but just from random screenshots I can kind of see it. There are apparently even EarthBound references in the game that fans will pick up on: I have yet to play the game, but lots of people...Read More »
Club Nintendo, which was Nintendo’s system for rewarding fans who bought lots of games, is apparently closing soon, but if you have 250 reward coins you can still trade them in for a free copy of EarthBound for the Wii U! The offer only lasts a few months, so act now if you can! This deadline is just for Club Nintendo stuff, though – even after it expires you’ll still be able to...Read More »

This summer, the very first Camp Fangamer / EarthBound Bash Mk II is being held July 18 and 19, 2015 in Tucson, Arizona! It’s essentially going to be the first big, genuine EarthBound convention ever… and some of the tentative events I’ve heard about sound really cool. For now, here’s a quick teaser video: (Poemato interviewing Marcus Lindblom in the thumbnail!) And you ca...Read More »
The creator of the impressive Hyperbound EarthBound hack has been working diligently on one of the biggest EarthBound hacks ever, called Unearthed. It’s a little bit different from your standard EarthBound hack, though: Unearthed is centered around a fairly simple plot – one that draws influences from Labyrinth, Cave Story, Fraggle Rock and many other sources. Through a series of unlikely ...Read More »
