Tips for Buying EarthBound

June 30th, 2014 | EarthBound 64, Uncommon Knowledge, Videos

A few years back, OKeijiDragon started working on a documentary video series about big-name video games that wound up canceled. The first video was to be about MOTHER 3 (particularly the Nintendo 64 version)… and the 2012 work-in-progress version of the video is now available for all to see!

The video is really information-dense and uses on-screen text rather than a narrator, so it’s a neat blend of a standard written article and multimedia stuff. There are a lot of little details in here that fans might not know about, so give it a watch sometime and learn more about the version of MOTHER 3 that was never released!

I’m glad you saw my e-mail ^_^
I loved this video and watched it three times already.
There’s even a couple of screenshots I haven’t seen before, which is awesome.

I’ve been curious about this for so long, and nows as good a time as any to ask. I know around 1997 the game was planned to be released as EarthBound 64 in North America, but in the end (around 2000) was the game still planned for the US before cancellation?

I don’t think anyone knows for 100% sure, but there weren’t any indications in 2000 that it was going to be denied an English release.
