Super translator Chewy recently translated a very big and very interesting interview with Shigeru Miyamoto and Shigesato Itoi back before the Nintendo 64 Disk System was released in Japan and while it still seemed like the next big thing for Nintendo.

There’s a ton of stuff they cover, including various things relating to MOTHER 3/EarthBound 64 that not even I’ve heard before, so give it a read here!

So, not only does this reveal bad hopes for MOTHER 3, it also has stuff about (then-64DD) Ocarina of Time, and Super Mario 64-2. Kinda cool. I wonder what would happen if the 64DD was not a failure.

Like I said on teh Tweeterz: the bit about halfway down where Itoi starts talking about “sense of sport” was amazing. I read that paragraph like four times and it blew different segments of my mind each time.

I forgot about Cabbage, not that I ever really knew anything about it. Anyone have anything on just what came out of that project?
