EarthBound Gets Burned

Hahaha people were getting so mad over this! XD I was watching reactions over Twitter, and figured I’d watch it if the link ever came my way.

Nnnnnow it has, and yes that was funny, and I caught all the things I’d heard, too!

EarthBound? That was a bad idea. But at least I know which game SHOULD be burned!

Shaq Fu? No. Something different. The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (PAL version).

Zelda is great, but ALL cartridges released in PAL region (Europe, Australia) contain two major glitches, as well as more minor ones.

The worst glitch is the missing bomb bag upgrade. Normally, the game features three bomb bag upgrades. But one of them (inside Stockwell’s shop) cannot be obtained, because it does not appear on the shelf!

Another major glitch is related to the Goron sidequest. After visiting Castor Wilds for the first time and returning to Eastern Hills, you can fuse Kinstones with farmer Eenie. But here is a glitch – if you begin the fusion process, cancel it (e. g. because you don’t have correct Kinstone piece), leave the screen with him and return, then you won’t be able to fuse with Eenie anymore and complete the Goron sidequest!

These glitches were not fixed in the 3DS ambassador version.

why would you get mad over this. if it was like an unopened box or something that might be different but… its just a used cart, they’re expensive but not exactly rare.

Hopefully this wasn’t a real cartridge. Maybe he had EarthBound in the SNES and grabbed and burned a copy of a different game that had a fake EB label on it. If not that was a really bad waste of a great game.

Yeah someone tell them that burning 100 dollar bills would get more publicity. Quick, before they start burning Star Wars antiques and alpha set MtG cards.

I hate to say this, but I can play this game on my wii with filters. It’s awful and I wish I could own the game. I never will pay the outrageous prices though. RELEASE ON VIRTUAL CONSOLE!

It wasn’t a real Earthbound cartridge, just a Madden ’98 cart with an EB label printed over it. Don’t let this guy toy with your emotions.

Also I thought the video was pretty funny.

Burning $100 bills is an ACTUAL crime whereas burning EB is… merely… something that SHOULD be a crime.

Seriously everybody loosen up. Not only was it fake, but it was his cartridge and he could do whatever the hell he wants with it. If he broke into your house and burnt your copy, then I’d understand. But the most important point I need to make is: It’s just a game! Actually please continue raving about it, your reactions are priceless.

Apparently its a fake. They switched out the cartridge with a Madden Cartride. Hope that calms you guys down. :L

Guys/gals chill out, its obviously fake. when he burns it and the music starts playing you can see a slight gap a the bottom of the cart. no insides of the cart. just the cart. he probably switched out the cart with a stupid game like zelda or even star fox. Just kiddin’ about zelda and star fox though…

I guess it’s funny, but not really. I don’t find burning pieces of art to be entertaining. This video just makes this guy look like a jackass rather than a comedian. Not really something worth watching. It’s kind of a waste of time.
