Today I came across some neat videos. This is the closest many of us will get to winning one of these plushes ourselves:
This next video is by Haruna Anno, who you might remember from this.
And I think this might actually be considered a rarity:
I think the Mr. Saturn plushes might still be in arcades, I’m not sure. The Belch ones are pretty hard to come by from what I hear. If anyone can confirm/deny any of this, let me know!

So freaking awesome. Makes me appreciate the stuff that’s shown up that much more.
Plushies were still in the smaller arcades when I left Japan a month ago, but major arcades are sold out.
If I’d known you were going to be posting videos of the Saturn-catching, I would have sent you the few I have using the scissors-type machines. XD;
I have a video like this of me failing.
There was a new arcade near Kichijoji Station (on the Chuo main line) that had Mister Saturns about a month ago. I don’t know if they are still there now though!

OMG! The Belch is soooo cute! AHHH
Get the one with no eyebrows and sell it for like $8000 I wish I loved there so I could get these guys for dirt cheap instead of shelling out $50+ each. -.-
It’s so weird to see people get this stuff and not care TOO much..I’d flip out haha
I can indeed confirm that the Geppus (Master Belch) were incredibly hard to come by. I made another post stating that of the 3 weeks that I was in Japan, the dozen or so UFO Catchers I went to only had ONE Geppu prize in it.
I ended up winning 2-3 Mr. Saturns, if I recall. One was from the exact method used in the first video. I used the chain ball to my advantage and basically “hooked one”.
UFO Catchers in Japan are awesome. There was basically one in every corner, and have prizes of just about anything–from plushes, to Cup of Noodles.
Total spending on the plushes I won: ~$20.
Amount they would have gone for on eBay: ~$100, maybe.

The brow-less M.r Saturn is really cute, but Ms. Anno is even cuter. :3
My wife and I were in Tokyo in June and on our very last day there we spent our very last coins getting a Belch one more coin away from our excited little hands. We sprinted to the JR station to get refunds on our Suica cards but by the time we returned someone else got it. Curses!!!

@RObert, Sounds like a rookie mistake.
One of you should have stayed and held the machine.
That person in the second video must be feeling like she’s got a lot of good luck.
And yet, people still complain the Earthbound doesn’t get enough attention.
