Tips for Buying EarthBound

May 23rd, 2010 | EarthBound, Merchandise

Ever since the announcement a few months back that a bunch of new MOTHER series stuff would be hitting Japanese arcades starting in June, I’ve been anxiously checking Japanese sites almost daily. And now the first stuff has started to show up!

The first two things to show up are plushes of captured Mr. Saturns from MOTHER 2/EarthBound that are 11 centimeters high and plushes of Master Belch! You can see the official page here!

These will start showing up in select Japanese arcades in early June. They’re for a limited time only, so if you want one, check the list here if you’re in Japan, or if not, then keep your eyes peeled on Yahoo Auctions Japan and eBay next month.

As mentioned in the Giant Mr. Saturn event round-up, there are going to be LOTS more things showing up this year, this is just the start. So get your wallets ready!

Axl-fox said on May. 23, 2010

of all the people in earthbound

they had to make a plushie of the boss made of barf ;_;

Not a plush kind of guy but these give me great hope as to what’s coming later this year. So much for saving 😀

neonix said on May. 23, 2010

These plushies are barftastic!

Hey KD, would your inside person mind picking some of these new merch for me? I’d make it worth his/her time. Anything is better than the huge fees from YJA services.

If I lived in Japan I’m sure I would have even less cash because I’d be buying these Mother plushies all the time.

Fredrik said on May. 24, 2010

Hahaw yeah! Barf is the shit.

I said on May. 24, 2010

Yay I think they will go for $70-80 on eBay.

Hejiru said on May. 24, 2010

Now people everywhere will be able to fulfill their dreams of having a plushie of a living pile of vomit.

Poe said on May. 24, 2010

Now this is more like it. While Saturns are cool and all, Banpresto was sort of saturating the market with them. I’m glad there is a different OFFICIAL EarthBound plushie now.

Master Blech as a plush… that’s just brillant. He is even somewhat cute.

Psi-Rockin said on May. 24, 2010

Oh man, why does all this cool stuff happen to the Japanese? Who knows what sweet stuff if right around the corner?
In America you can be sure that you won’t see plush toys based off video games that came out 15 years ago!

My friend is going to Japan in August I believe – think he’ll be able to pick up some of this Mother gear or the Mother gear that is to come? Will they still be available then?

BottleRocket said on May. 24, 2010

So much merch! I’m going to have a hard time deciding what figures or plushies to buy!

Chrissii said on May. 24, 2010

Mr. Saturn plushies. Ok, that’s pretty cool.

Master Belch plushies? I would totally put that in my work cubicle, I don’t even care about all the strange questions it would evoke.

FinalstarmanDX said on May. 24, 2010

I love how the Mr. Saturns have little ball and chain anklet thingies

LakituAl said on May. 24, 2010

If I was rich, my room would be lined with these. And I would COLLECT THEM ALL.(maniacal laughter)

Seriously speaking, though, all this new merchandise greatly pleases me.

Gotta love the Master Belch plush! 😛

LucasTizma said on May. 25, 2010

What, does ゲップー mean “belch” or something in Japanese?

blahblah said on May. 25, 2010

Japan’s lucky. They get all the treasure and we get stupid crap! Well I’m going to Japan next week (maybe) so I just MIGHT be able to get them 🙂
