A while back I posted about our old pal Kyosuke who made an EarthBound-themed card game for teaching English to Japanese schoolkids. Well, he’s also since come up with a board game (or more accurately a series of board games) centered around Onett. From his blog post: Well, here’s a picture of the Onett board game that I made for my students to play in class! It’s actually only ...Read More »
An interesting week this past week was. It’s amazing there’s still anything left to say about EarthBound and the other games after all this time, but somehow the fans keep it alive 😀 Okay, so let’s take a look at what else has happened in the world of EarthBound around the Internet this past week. Community News EarthBound Review – An RPG experience unlike any other. Th...Read More »
The other day I posted a video showing a 3D version of the EarthBound title screen, and now here’s a 3D title screen for MOTHER 1 by blkhatRaven: Looks really cool! I think a 3D version of the game would be pretty interesting if done right, but I don’t think anyone has the spare time for something like that. Thanks to Ninji for the tip! ...Read More »
A good while back Starmen.Net held a YouTube video contest, and one of the prizes was a rare Mach Pizza air freshener. TomBobBlender won it with his insanely good Mario Paint compositions, and here we see him receiving his prize: I wonder if it still smells like pizza. Anyway, sometimes these things go for hundreds of dollars, though usually they go for less than that nowadays. I think it was act...Read More »
MichaFrario recently posted a Flash animation on Newgrounds called “Bound on Earth“. It’s really nifty and is full of awesome EarthBoundosity! Thanks to the many people who sent in news about this almost all at once! I think this was the second time such a thing has ever happened in the history of this site 😛 ...Read More »
The 250th issue of Nintendo Power is starting to show up in people’s mailboxes, and as part of the celebration there is a “250 reasons to love Nintendo” list in the magazine. EarthBound was part of the list: (click for big) Thanks to The Great Morgil and Eric for sending in news so quickly and providing pics! We now return you to your regularly-scheduled cult activities, already...Read More »
I’m not even sure of how to start explaining this, but basically there’s a Japanese site where famous people, somewhat-known people, and regular people can create gaming-related blogs and post on them. Of course, the real attraction are the famous/somewhat-known people’s blogs. Looking around the site a while back, I came across one female tarento who really likes the MOTHER seri...Read More »
About a year or two ago, Itoi’s company set up an online music shop on his site. It was well-crafted and made to resemble a shop a lot like you might find in MOTHER 3; Itoi even went so far as to hire one of the Brownie Brown artists who worked on MOTHER 3 to do art for the music site. The shop primarily sells jazz music, and you can check it out here. It’s pretty nice, and if you loo...Read More »
Last week I posted about the Super NES EarthBound prototype and/or review cart that was on eBay. The auction ended yesterday, and after 13 bids it sold for about $584. Who bought it? What’s on the cart? Is it a review copy of the final build? Or does it have a work-in-progress version of EarthBound on it? Judging from all stuff in the magazine reviews and the weird things in the EarthBound ...Read More »
- DJ: From what I’ve gathered I’m pretty sure he still writes copy, so they’re an ad company.
- cosmodos: What does his company even do? Is it actually lucrative? From what I can gather (not knowing Japanese), it’s just his blog, and he...
- Jason: http://www.ipokiso.com/company /2017/hobonichi.html The anticipated price per share is 2,300 yen. As for those wishing to purchase a share...
- Leeaux: Hey I just saw this! Really interesting watch to. Lots of little fun facts.
- Mary: The “behind the scenes” video on how the Ness animation was made is great too. The animators channel is A + Start.
