@Churly: Nintendo Power has mentioned Mother 3 tons of times, usually taunting readers that it’d be released. Like when they were spreading rumors about Kingdom Hearts 3 being made.

Actually, Churly, I think they did once. I remember seeing an article in this one section they used to do about Japan exclusives and they talked about it and made an excuse that because of the huge amount of text in the game, it would take years to translate and be nearly impossible to do so.

And ironically, I think it printed a few months before the fan translation was completed! Haha!

How about that, the magazine (whether it was officially owned by Nintendo or not) actually had the guts to say Earthbound has a sequel.

Even to this day, Nintendo Power hasn’t ever told its readers Mother 3 exists. Too bad for them they’re in the age of the internet.
