Another week already? Man, do these pass by fast now. The site opened on January 9th, so it’s been four months now. Amazing that there actually exists enough stuff to update an EarthBound blog every day for four months in a row

Anyway, this week was another slow one again. Work is busy, etc, etc. Too bad there isn’t a new EarthBound game coming out, that’d make updates happen like crazy.

Well, let’s have a look at what’s done gone on this week!

Site News

• Don’t worry, MOTHER 1+2 is still being worked on. I’m stuck at like 90% on the first draft. After that I need to format the script, then play the game with the script in so I can do the final draft. If I can ever get that last 10% done, I’ll make an update here with more details and such.
• Very close to finishing getting screenshots for my MOTHER 2 vs. EarthBound stuff. I’m in the cave of the past in both games now. The next actual update will be Summers, but it’s going to be such a big update that I haven’t had time to get to it. Quick, someone clone me!
• I’ve been thinking of making a small forum here on EB Central. I haven’t really had the time to do much with the idea though. It’d be more for EB Central talk, merchandise talk, M2 vs. EB stuff, and all that other stuff, plus it’d link with the user accounts here on the blog. But it’s just an idea and I might not go through with it.
• I finally fixed my contact form so that file attachments don’t get eaten. So if you have news you wanna let me know about, you can attach a file and I’ll get it. Hurray!

• Brand-new copy of EarthBound sells for over $1000!

Cool Auctions & Merchandise

A whole lot of new stuff this week! Of course, the biggest news was the brand-new, unopened copy of EarthBound that sold for over $1000. Shortly after that one sold, someone else put up another supposedly brand-new copy of EarthBound, and other people have been putting up their full copies of the game for more money than usual.

Besides that though, a bunch of other interesting stuff has showed up on eBay recently, so check it out. Also remember that you can check to see what EarthBound/MOTHER stuff is currently on eBay at any time here!

What’s Up With Itoi

• Sorry, been way too busy this week to keep close tabs on Itoi’s stuff. I check his site daily, so I won’t miss anything really important, but a lot of his posts lately have just been internal monologue-type things that I haven’t had time to take notes about. One thing that comes to mind though is that he dresses his dog in a Minnie Mouse costume a lot. I wonder if it’s actually a girl dog. I always assumed it was male for some reason I can’t remember. Oh well.

Upcoming Stuff

So busy lately that I can’t plan stuff in advance right now. But June 1st marks the first day the ROID service in Japan begins, so hopefully we’ll have news about that EarthBound-lookalike game soon. It’s pretty obvious it’s not an EarthBound game now, but I’m really curious about it, and maybe some interesting information will turn up. I haven’t heard back from MW about The Sirens of Titan review, so I might write a review of it myself this week or next. It influenced Itoi when he was working on MOTHER 2 and is a pretty neat book.
