The first giant Mr. Saturn plushie on eBay just sold for $255 USD (see here). Unlike the other one that’s set at $800 buy-it-now, this was in a normal auction, so that gives a general idea as to what the going market value for it is on eBay. What’s funny is that 1: when you add in the original cost + middleman fees to get it + the expensive shipping + eBay listing fees, it probably totals somewhere around $250. And 2: that’s how much some of the much smaller MOTHER 3 Mr. Saturn plushies on eBay cost.
These giant plushes will probably only go up in price as time goes on, though. Unless an even bigger or better Mr. Saturn plush is ever made somehow

It just goes to show you that ripping off a dedicated fan base such as ours just to earn yourself a quick buck is bound to bite you in the ass one day. I’d actually be willing to bet that the seller lost money on the deal because if I’m not mistaken he also offered free shipping, right?
That’s actually ALOT of money for a Mr. Saturn.
To me, anyway…
Ever for for some of my favorite nostalgia, I couldn’t pay that much for something like this.
Sticker Shock has to kick in once it’s delivered and un-packaged…

Do I want a Giant Mr. Saturn? Yes.
Do I want to spend $250+ on one? No.
Obtaining items through middlemen can be pricey, but it’s not nearly as high as some of you have been suggesting. Fees adding up to 150% the price of the item? Come on…

Shipping was costing $100-ish for some people (unless they wanted to tempt fate and send via surface mail for $50 less), so $120 + $100 + middleman cost + other stuff seems like it could reach $250 easily.
The item was about $140, the fees were about $20 I believe, and the shipping is $120, through Celga.
That’s $280.
Can anyone who got it through Celga verify that they included the Escargot Express box with the item?

And now that $800 just sold. Someone reallllly rich must want it. Or if someone got it to try to sell it later, they gotta be pretty crazy
I bought one through Celga and my total cost was around $300. So, to who ever bought this one for $255, congratulations. You got a good deal. I was thinking about selling mine on eBay, but I guess I’ll wait until they can sell for more. But if that $800 one just sold, maybe they can go pretty high. I dunno.
*the one who bought the $800 one*
I know I’m gonna regret it. It’s almost worth my every hard work penny.
To be honest, the 800 thing is just too much. Guess I’m just desperate.
Oh well, what happens, it just happens ^^;

Oh man
You HAVE to make it a shrine or something then. Maybe make a video series or give it a top hat and monocle or something to at least appease the money spirits that now live inside its plush interior
IDK, I’m starting to have second thoughts about it. Like asking the sell for a refund that I don’t want it.
This has got to be the most expensive thing I ever bought in my life. (The PS3 is now in 2nd in my list after they reduced it by $100)
I was going to bid for the $255 one at the last minute, but I didn’t know if that was too much or too small of a deal for these things, mainly because I didn’t know it would have cost more with the middle man.
Ah well, my mother3 deluxebox/mother1+2 came in today so I am still happy. :}
gahhh i am SO mad!!! i was bidding on it for $250 but my ebay froze and i lost… UGH UGH i even skipped class to bid on it because it was ending when i was in school! sigh… so depressed… D:
It’s a plushie.
Sure it’s huge.
But it’s a plushie, nothing more.
$100, yes, maybe. $200, possibly but that’s stretching it.
JPEEZY: So true! You could most definitely make one with the right materials for a much lower cost.

Damn, someone bought that little Mother 3 Mr. Saturn today too. Today must be Mr. Saturn Day or something. The Mr. Saturn merchandise page is pretty small now

Yeah mine ended up costing around $320, a little more because I’m in Canada.
Yes, yes, but if you ordered it from Celga, did it come with the Escargot Express box?
Yes If you ordered from Celga it does come with the Escargo Express Box and It is shipped inside of another box.

Who’s up for 12 foot Saturn plushes?

That’s a lot cheaper than I thought they would go for. I mean no where near $800 but at least a little more than the total originally paid for them.
