I thought it might be nice to take a closer look at individual pieces of EarthBound and MOTHER merchandise, so this time I decided to take a look at the ASCII Comix MOTHER 2 Manga. This is the book I’ve been using for my recent manga translations, and probably one of my favorites. It’s comprised of different short sections, each drawn by a different artist, so it never gets monotonous. It’s also 128 pages long. Probably the only downside is that there aren’t any colored pages (besides the book jacket flap), which a few of the other manga out there have.
I see this manga every once in a while on eBay, and all the time on Yahoo! Auctions Japan. I think you can even get it used from Amazon Japan still. Once in a while, anyway. On eBay, I’d say it goes for about $30-$50 usually.
This will probably continue to be where my manga translations come from, but for now here is a look at a bunch of Japanese pages by all the different artists. There’s definitely a wide range of art styles in here.

It was the second Mother manga I ever got. :3 I still love it to the end of the Earth. Some of them are brilliant, because you can figure out the joke without ever needing to understand a word.

Actually, it’s the same one as the ones I’ve been translating from, which you gave me. I think you gave me another one but I don’t recall what it was right now. I think it was one of the non 4-koma ones or something.
