Unused / Missing MOTHER 3 Music

I like “Hi,” “A neat little thing,” “Another love theme,” “Don’t listen to this during a nightmare,” and– aw forget it. I like them all.

I think your “Love Theme version” is actually a rendition of the Pigmask Army’s theme…

That first “Love Theme version” isn’t the Love Theme at all! It’s the Pigmask theme, but … sad.

Maybe it was for use with the removed “Porky dies” sprites.

M3 had quite the interesting soundtrack. Wasn’t the same as the others but it definitely had it’s own charm to it.

The barren factory one is creepy, it gave me chills, where does it play, and you forgot the creepy breathing sounds!

Barren Factory plays when you go back to the place where the pigmasks mistake you for the commander in Chapter 7.

i think he means “alternate love theme by one of itoi’s interveiws when he said that the Pig mask theme was going to be the main theme, but it was replaced by the love theme. so really, it was the original love theme.

trainish sorta sounds like a song i’ve heard in the game before, but I can’t quite put my finger on it, and a song that plays somewhere in or near tazmilly? (Sorry my memory isn’t “great”

Trainish is a remix of the song that plays when you ride the Green Train.

I think the creepy Giygas sounding thing is interesting.

Maybe they WERE planning to have Giygas in the game…

Isn’t there also a unused version of the Battle against drago with “glitch-outs” and a version of etude for ghosts closer to the 64 version?

The last one was very creepy. According to what I have heard, it was going to be used in the Lucas Nightmare battle or something.

The last one sounded like a siren with a voice. Maybe there was gonna be a self-destruct sequence?

Maybe the slow Green Train one was originally planned for the mine cart ride. I guess since they scrapped that, they decided it was good train music so they made another train and sped the music up.

The Sad Pigmask theme sounds sort of like New Pork Bossa.

And maybe there was originally an underwater grotto and there was a hotel there, and when you woke up then the underwater morning music played.

I think that “Hi” one was originally the Mother 3 Saturn Valley theme. Especially with that “Boing” at the end. I thought this even before I heard the “Boing,” though. Maybe they liked it at first, but then they came up with Mr. Saturn Theme Z and liked it better, but they liked this enough to revise it and use it as the Mini-Porky minigame theme.

That slow version of “A Railway In Our Village!” was probably the Tazmily theme after everyone left for New Pork City. That’s my opinion on it, anyway.

I don’t know what to say about the other tracks.

The song “a neat little thing” seems like a Epilouge, Chapter 9 intro song, perhaps there is more…

Is there links to Mother 3 tracks ripped directly from the game somewhere? Like the actual GBA tracks, so I can play them in winamp. (For those that don’t know, there are special plugins that’ll let you play Video game music ripped from various games and game systems)

Another Love theme sounds a lot like and Then There Were None. Both I like a lot.

Trianish is used in the game when you go on the green trian right it sounds the same.. to me.

The “Love Theme Version” song is actually the Pigmask theme. I guess it might’ve been used instead of the “Absolutely Safe Capsule” track OR if Porky might have actually died.

By the way, If you increase the pitch of the last one, you can make out that it’s what the DCMC say starting out their last song. (1 2, 3, 4, 1 2, 1 2, 3, 4.) If you listen carefully, you can also make it seem like it’s saying 1 2, Lu, cas… The original idea that this would be used for was that *SPOILERS* Claus would be possessed by Giygas and he would call out to Lucas. Slowing down the music reveals that after the DCMC say “1 2, 3, 4,”, you can hear cheering DCMC fans in the backround.

“hi” sounds like another thing i heard. maybe removed for copyright or sumthin, eyeunno.. but yet again, there are like 20 million musical references in mother 3, so…
still, can’t quite put my finger on where i heard hi.

The Love Theme version sounds like the Pigmask/Porky theme. that leads me to belive that it was the beta/alpha love theme.

I wonder what Ness thought about Porky after Porky was finnaly gone……

The “Barren” theme is actually a vocal version of the battle song “Tragic Reconstruction.”
